A recent Pokamon discussion that took place here had revived my interest in Pokemans, and I've been playing Sapphire quite a bit lately. Music's great. Graphics are great. The color... can not be found anywhere else! [/Street Fighter II Champion Edition Promo reference]

The manga arc (Pokemon Adventures) was great as well, although I really didn't dig Brenden/Ruby's personality (he was... really feminine...:?) much, but May/Sapphire reminded me of a female Goku... Probably the whole accent and speech mannerisms, and the whole "livin' in the wild" theme going on there...(she didn't really live there, but she considered it her second home.) She also was obsessed with Pokemon battles, whereas Brenden/Ruby was obsessed with... their beauty...

Might change it to a Street Fighter one sooner or later due to my additional Street Fighter phase I am going through right now as well. I've been playing Alpha 3 on the GBA(Amazing port, and better in almost every way to the original) a ton as well, and it is as tough as nails!

Haha!

Something interesting I should note is that I have a weird tendency to play as the characters whose manga name corresponds with the games name. For example, in Gold I play as Gold, in Crystal, Crystal, in Ruby, Brendan/Ruby, in Sapphire, May/Sapphire, and in games like Silver or Emerald that don't have the characters from the manga, or doesn't have them playable, I pick who I want (or in the earlier games the only playable character. :P)

I forgot to mention that I drew it. It feels good to use an avatar drawn by yourself! :)

I just cropped it from that big double page colour spread somewhere in the 22nd tournament. An avatar of Chaozu seemed appropriate.

Eventually Kunzait's avatar will just be a solid red square.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I was close!

If any normal person doesn't want to projectile vomit all over your screen, I suggest not Googleing that. You have been warned.

HA HA OH WOW, best thing I've ever done.

I forget people don't know the bizarre terminology that seems like a second language to me.

I suppose naivety would make that funny and I hate to rain on your parade, but I already knew what it was. I didn't actually Google it. It was a fair warning to those who haven't been exposed to it. I know we have a couple of youngans' here. If somebody names something I've never heard of, my first instinct is to highlight>left click>Search for on Google.

Found this one on a Livejournal community, actually. Not a lot of love for characters other than Vegeta or Goku, so finding a halfway decent Videl one, especially as Saiyagirl, was a treat for me.

The Sailor Moon reference was brilliant too.

Well now, how do I respond to this without being ironic? I didn't post that in defense, I'm not offended.

Sigh... You can never really be sure what somebody's tone is in written English.

As I recall, didn’t you also have one from Gremlins, and another from Nosferatu?
Ah, I did have a Gremlins (2) one. I may have tried my Nosferatu one here, and if so it probably got me in trouble. It exceeds this forums avatar limits, but I do use that one elsewhere.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Since I originally joined the forum so I could reply to comments on my rendition of Cha La Head Cha La, this seemed appropriate. The picture is drawn freehand, based on the first time Goku's tail gets cut off, with Oolong's pants replaced by his usual outfit (though I missed the seam in the pants), and the usual kanji replaced with "Shima," short for "Shimarisu" ("Chipmunk," though literally "Stripe Squirrel," or, even more literally, "Stripe Chestnut Rat"--Hey! Educating and a little bit of entertaining!).

I hope it's at least recognizable as a chipmunk tail...
