I can easily imagine people on DB Wikia sticking to that aubergine nonsense like the case of denki-gama bullshit.

The "gine" in "aubergine" isn't even pronounced like Gine, is it? Shouldn't it sound like "jean", in contrast with Gine (Gi-ney)?

Maybe we should spell Goku's mother's name as Giné or Giney or something, to help nip this in the bud.

Maybe you should spell it as Ghi- to show that it's "hard G".

So it's the onion, not the eggplant. Good to know.
I was using a hard G from the start, but I could see how if you don't know the G vs J sound thing and how it applies in Japanese that people might be using the soft g instead.

There is also the fact that Ginny is a name and popularized by Harry Potter, so...

I would not be opposed to adding that é accent mark to Gine to try and help.

So, Ghiné?
On hiatus.

Oh god.

Roleplay twitter accounts are unbearably cringe-worthy.

Why does this exist?

Could be worse, could be a youtube roleplay account.

Looks pretty nice. Didn't like Episode of Bardock enough to justify buying this, though.

Maybe I'll think about it...

EDIT: Anyone get this in yet (apart from Julian :P )?

People have already started trying to sell them separately on auction sites. It actually looks really neat, like another volume of the Tankoubon (the re-release, anyway). Looks surprisingly high quality, given that it came free with a magazine (unless they charged extra for this issue)? But then again, there was also so that issue with the DVD...they put some awesome stuff in these magazines, don't they?

How thick is it, anyway? And how much additional content did they put in it to bulk it up?

I kinda wish I could get this now... :|

I just got it. It's very thin, it has the 3 episodes plus the extra pages, and an SD gag manga of episode if Bardok. In one Bardock's team poses as the Saiyajin Special forces, and in another it seems Chilldo gets annoyed by Bardock who keeps calling him Freeza.

Not much else apart from that. The magazine doesn't have anything new besides the SD manga and the GT manga.

the price was the same, 480 yens. This is the first time I bought one of this magazines and I'm very surprised. I knew they were big an all, but this one is over 700 pages, some of them with color and good quality, and comes packed with the Bardock manga, a heroes card and some book with a card list for something I don't know (also in color and good quality). the paper is good enough in my opinion... and it's just 480 yens....which is just 4,80$. On my country something like that will cost over 20 or 30 $ for sure. With the extras probably a lot more.

EDIT:
Here are some pictures (sorry for the quality):

Wow, where did you buy it from/where do you live that you got it so fast? I ordered it Tuesday off of CDJapan(along with this week's Jump) and I'm not expecting it until Monday. I suppose you placed a pre-order?

Kind of sucks to pay the crazy shipping price for two cheap magazines, but I only had so much to spend and more items just meant more money.

I live in Madrid, Spain. I ordered it 29 of january, it was supposed to arrive between 7 and 10 of febrary. I was lucky and it came on 6 :) I also got extra lucky and I didn't have to pay customs for it :)

I used to live on Alicante, Spain, and back then things from Japan took a lot longer because they had to first arrive at Madrid, and then they had to be sent to Alicante...

Did anyone else get a Yu-Gi-Oh! card in the mail? I received an English one, "Archfiend Commander", but the only English Jump stuff I bought recently was a month ago, along with the digital English Shonen Jump, which I have a subscription for. Either this card came really late, was a random kind gesture from Viz for buying things, or it's connected to this month's V-Jump...

You get four Yu-Gi-Oh card promos (released over the course of the year) for every 12-month subscription of Viz's Shonen Jump. Next one will be the Blue Eyes White Dragon.

You can still find the magazine in Japan, i just bought it today and saw stock in 2 different places. (wasnt aware of it until today thanks to this site...., it is the first time I buy a manga magazine).

I really liked the Episode of Bardock, its nice quality.

I will share some pictures:
BTW, I arrived to Japan 2 months ago (will stay 4 years and a half), i know little japanese, I am a very big fan of Dragon Ball but mostly of the anime, I didnt knew a lot about mangas in general, I just learned some weeks ago about the kanzenban editions that certain mangas have and after seeing these editions for some series I like (and reading A LOT about them on the internet, thats how I found this community which I think is the best one out there) I have decided to start collecting them. I just fell in love with all the details they have! Collecting Kanzenban manga editions will be my new hobby, some series I´m interested(that have kanzenban): Dragon Ball, Full Metal Alchemist, Rurouni Kenshin, Sailor Moon, Dr. Slump, Saint Seiya...

The only problem is that like I said, for the moment my japanese level is very basic and I know some of the series I want have their spanish (I'm from Mexico) kanzenban edition.... I dont know what to do!! Should i get them in Japanese? (I'm living here for the moment, hopefully my japanese level will improve...) or just get the spanish editions?? (more expensive as I will have to import them). I have searched how the spanish edition compares to the japanese one but unfortunately I have found very little information about this. Does anyone here knows?

For the moment I just have 2 volumes of the dragon ball full color (freeza arc) and this...

I recomend you get the japanese editions. In my view, things are better in the language they were written, and being in Japan is a big oportunity to learn japanese. The mangas you cited are Shonens so they are not very dificult to understand, and being kanzenban editions they all have furigana for every kanji (unlike old tankobons). Also, they are very cheap in japan.

I got it. I thought it would be bigger based on the photos, but it's still nice quality. Also, the magazine came with some type of Dragon Ball/Naruto/One Piece/another series crossover chapter; possibly promoting a game or Carddass. I think there's a DBH card in here, but it's supposedly sealed inside paper and I'd have to rip it out of the magazine to verify.

There's also a series in here that on the surface doesn't look like it has anything to do wtih Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, but there is a character who looks suspiciously like Don Patch.
