But, calling the control scheme "terrible" (I have played terrible schemes before, this is not one of them), difficulty "spikes", "stupid" when you as a character get stronger and normally, as a player, get better, and what not, is way overstating things. Making a mountain out of a molehill.
My problem is; if they don't like the game, don't play it. Simple as that.
Except that Xenoverse has a lot of good things about it that the bad things take away from it. Like, I like the concept of the story, I like the RPG elements (which Dimps had included in Budokai 3 as well), I like the create-a-character stuff, & some other things about it. However, the controls you have to get used to (plus the fact that you can't remap buttons, which NEEDS to be in the game because Budokai had it &, if I could have a custom control scheme, I could get more into the game) that aren't too intuitive, the RNG of the first game, bullshit level design compounded by terrible bullshit ally A.I. (the Frieza ship level, anyone?), the level spikes (which IS a thing, by the way, don't just write it off, dude) even when you have leveled up, bullshit super armor on bosses & sometimes bullshit hard enemy A.I. (Beerus & Whis' training fight with Trunks being AWFUL to get through, especially since Trunks is next to worthless in that fight), the clothes system based on what gives you better stats versus letting you wear whatever you want (and not in an amusing way like South Park: The Stick of Truth) that wasn't resolved until the sequel, & some smaller things that aren't too important right now.
On top of ALL of those, there''s shit the game doesn't tell you, like that the different genders & races have WAY different stats, which make the male Saiyans the WEAKEST for some reason, how to allocate your stats effectively, & I'm sure other things that I haven't seen yet.
The games feel like they have these disparate elements of both action fighting games, which makes sense because it's Dimps, & RPGs, that were then put in a blender & mixed together randomly & unevenly. The best thing I can compare the games to are Kingdom Hearts II, a GREAT Action RPG. I don't give 2 shits about Xenoverse as the games stand right now, but KH2 is a game I had an absolute blast playing, even in the forced level grinding sessions I had & I played that on the highest difficulty available in the game. Xenoverse isn't a game I had a great time with & I love action adventure games. I'm sure that if you actually practiced at it, it could get better, but to the people that don't expect a game with as much bullshit that the Xenoverse series has, I'd say they'd get turned off by it & turn away for another game. You can't ignore the problems that game has, legitimate ones that could be solved with better game design.

Trunks kinda ambiguously refers to super trunks as himself, but he does that with gt trunks somewhat in xv1.
They have different colour hair, xv trunks is from further down the timeline yet never displays rage Trunks power or even SS2 on screen, otherwise he would have soloed Mira in XV1.....
Is it broken now?
I had a headcanon that he's actually the cell timeline trunks resurrected and given false memories by Kaioshins but I don't think they'd do deep shit like that...
Do you think they'll just carry on and ignore this? If they do address it how will it get fixed?
I'm going with the headcanon that XV Trunks is a time-displaced duplicate of the Future Trunks we saw in Z. GT is explicitly stated to be a split timeline, so it's not THAT Trunks, since he never time traveled, but Super's Trunks just continued on as he would've. Maybe that explains why Super Trunks' hair is still blue, instead of the usual purple other than a stupid decision by the animators to maintain nonexistent consistency with Bulma's hair color that existed in the manga, but NOT in the series. (Seriously, kid Trunks' hair is still purple in Super, so why would Future Trunks'?) That genuinely still angers me in how much it doesn't make any sense. But yeah, the Trunks we see in Super & XV2 could be the original, just with recolored hair from the Kais to tell them apart or something. Then again, doesn't that Trunks have dialogue at the end of the level saying that he'd wanna repay the debt of getting the help he got or something? I don't know.
One of those would explain why he's weaker than he is at the end of his Super Arc, but then again, it seems like they wanted to have him have that dialogue to link it to his joining the Time Patrol, so I don't know.
