There aren't very many.
TripleRach has almost all of Daizenshuu 7 translated on
her site.
Herms and
Hujio have done a phenomenal job of translating Daizenshuu
1,
2 and
4 over on their sites (check out the bonus coverage for all of the text translated). Another great thing is that VIZ has released an officially and accurately translated version on Daizenshuu 1.

In actual news pertaining to the topic, did anyone else notice that on
the Wikipedia page for the special it has Tahble listed as a "Saiyan child"?
Also, I think that it is interesting how a major thread about a new Dragonball anime movie being
created in Japan with the help of
Akira Toriyama has not had any problems. Whereas
three major threads about a new Dragonball
live-action movie being made
in America by people
unfamiliar with the actual series have all been locked.

I think a small part of it is that there are now people who aren't Mr. Toriyama making their own "version" of Dragon Ball which newbies are going to take as canon and/or prefer to the original manga/anime series.
(And I'll be honest, from what I've seen so far it feels like nothing more than a poorly-conceived, glorified AU OOC fanfic that somebody got their rich daddy to make into a movie for them).
Personally, I'm hoping my younger cousins never catch wind of this movie. >_>
BUT, back on topic.....character sheets?
On hiatus.

Not to belittle the work TripleRach has done, but so far she's only got 64 pages done out of 313, so that's more of about 1/4 rather than almost all.

Most at large accept with Toriyama has done. While many don't like what Fox is doing with Toriyama's material.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

That is what I was trying to point out.

I just think it's sad that the people who can actually contribute to the series, are either completely incompetant or inexperienced, it happened with the English dub and it's happening with the live action movie, these people don't understand Toriyama's work and it shows.
Thats why I'm so excited about this special, It's like they anticipated how depressing and infuriating I found the live action movie to be, and Toei went out and made something to cheer me up.

I also have a feeling this is gonna be the early dub all over again in terms of Dragon Ball getting thrown under the bus (or made as a sacrifice) so that all future "anime-to-live-action" movies that come after it end up with appropriate, faithful adaptions.
I bet you that live-action Cowboy Bebop and live-action Akira end up ridiculously faithful to the source material.
On hiatus.

Chu, ya' oughta check out the television show Firefly (plus its film continuation, Serenity) to see how easy it'd be to make a live-action Bebop. It's a pretty incredible series, albeit extremely short, strong similarities to Bebop and I get a vibe you'd get a kick out of it. Sorry for being off-topic in regard to DragonBall.

I second that, it's a fantastic 12 episodes while it lasts and I loved Serenity, and I'm currently waiting for a trade paperback of "Better days" since I missed out on the singles.

After reading Kanzentai's Synopsis on the special I am so happy that I didn't miss much. If you think about it, I mean really think about it, it seemed to be more like "long lost" filler episode than a TV special. Hell I'm surprised they crammed so much in 35 minutes. I do love the fact they added some humor into the special (Uber Awesome Points for Goku tricking Vegeta) but everything else sounded pointless. Table comes off as badly written original character from extremely unoriginal fanfiction. Jeez Akira are serious man? Vegeta long lost brother, who was never mentioned before, drops out of the sky, literally, and begs Vegeta to help him defeat some purple twat? On top of that we get another Goten an Trunks power hour? Creative ideas must be hard to come by I see.
Oh well, I can't complain right? Beggars cant be choosers. I wanted something like this to happen for ages and now that its finally out, it smells like another bowl of disappointment. My God, its Superman Returns all over again!

Well, Jeez is pretty goofy, like all the other members of the Ginyu Special-Squad, but Akira always was a pretty serious child. I guess having massive psychic powers will do that to you.
OK, to be a serious man myself, would people
please stop referring to Toriyama as if he were your pen pal or something?

Sarcasm must wash over you like water. Oh course I'm not writing as if I aspect Akira Toriyama himself to reply to my post. Now I have to ask this, does that really bother you? If so dude chhiiillllll. It's not like I'm telling the man to screw himself.

So Toyble of the AF fanmanga made a post reviewing the special. It confirms the plot we've heard already (two years after Buu's defeat, new hotel built in Satan's honor, big party at said hotel with most of the characters, Table appears and asks Vegeta to save him from Abo and Kado, etc.). Some new information on some minor things:
Elder Kaioshin has a halo over his head in the speical, despite having been brought back to life by Polunga during the final battle with Buu.
Toyble says Lunch is present at the party, which contradicts the summary I translated (unless I misread that part...).
Kuririn has hair, so the poster for the special was unreliable in that regard.
Goten and Trunks look exactly like they did during the battle with Buu. Despite this, someone tells them that they've gotten big.
Gohan has an Orange Star High School badge on, so apparently he hasn't graduated yet.
As has been mentioned before, Goku raises radishes for a living in the special. Toyble points out the signifigance of Goku actually having a job for a change.
Unlike Goten and Trunks, Bee (Satan and Buu's dog) is actually shown as having grown in the last two years.
Goku's eyes in the special look like how Yamcha and Ultimate Gohan's eyes are drawn. Toyble says this makes him feel like "Ultimate Goku". Also, Kuririn's eyes are whited in.
In the special, Goten and Trunks fail their first Fusion and become fat Gotenks, but after splitting they then immediately fuse again. Toyble points out that suppesedly after a Fusion the two people must rest for awhile before trying again. He adds that GT makes this mistake as well, with Goku and Vegeta trying to re-fuse right after their first Fusion as Gogeta ends. Toyble says that it seems Fusion has evolved.
Goku's last line in the special is "Mata na!"/"Later!". Toyble says he will trust in these words.

While we're wishing for rainbows and ponies, I just want the film and projector plopped down by my front door.

Or TOEI fucked up. Honestly, that's the most likely reason.
