Okay, I just finished reading the full synopsis, and...wow. WOW. This really does sound like the best DB movie we've ever gotten, and really makes itself stand out in a lot of it, the way certain things play out I mean. Even the origin of the Super Saiyan God seems a little less contrived based on the description in the long article, compared to how it did before anyway.

This movie is going to be amazing when I finally get to see it. I can barely contain my anticipation.

A little off topic, but I really hope that in addition to us getting more DB in this vein, we get more series getting 'revival' movies that use a lot of involvement from the original authors. The only other film as such that I've seen is Bleach's Hell Verse, which sadly doesn't really seem much different from regular Bleach movies, but I hear really good thing about Oda's work on Strong World and Film Z as well as Kishimoto's helping on Road to Ninja. I think I would legitimately need new pants if we were to get something new for Yu Yu Hakusho or Rurouni Kenshin via Togashi and Watsuki helping on the films.

This makes me wonder what the plan for a potential sequel is in regard to the use of Super Saiyan God. Since it's implied at the end of the battle that Gokuu can use Super Saiyan God on his own now I wonder whether he will feel the form is now his own power or still the power of his friends.

Ultimately, I think Gokuu's attitude toward the form is a lot like his attitude about fusion before the final fight with Majin Boo. I'm actually rather impressed Toriyama was able to call back to that, if unintentionally, after so many years.

The thing about Goku "remembering" the "feel" of SSJ God afterwards is pretty strange too. If it's borrowed power then how does he remembering it result in anything concrete...

He'd have to be pure and not evil first though. And I also get this feeling (and am going with it until it's proven otherwise) that Goku as a Super Saiyan God is a LOT stronger in the form than the original one was. It just makes sense to me that this form that grants amazing powers would do so on top of whatever power you already had. Even if it doesn't at the outset, perhaps a regular Saiyan like the one that used it so long ago, wouldn't have been able to...to absorb the power of the form like Goku now has.

That's how I took it, yeah. I'm also wondering if maybe it's because there's not really a pause for Vegeta to change clothes? The first time we see Vegeta is his training I think, so maybe he was wearing his old armor for that instead of his usual attire?

There's nothing about him "remembering the feeling" though. Rather, Beers says Goku "absorbed that realm [of power?] into his body". Which is still weird and about as clear as mud, but let's keep it straight.

Wasn't it mentioned in the Jump '08 special that his Saiyan battle gear is also formal attire? Maybe he was planning on joining the party eventually. I guess the animators remembered that part at the last moment, so they made him appear in his armor instead of his Buu saga outfit (which was the original plan).
