Most likely. But he did go back to wearing a symbol; specifically the kame symbol, which he hadn't donned since before Freeza. So, it still kind of fits.Kaboom wrote:Well, the Jump special was pre-Oob anyway, so odds are he just hadn't retired the orange colors yet at that point.

Huh, I noticed that the art on these pages is very superior than the final vectorized art...TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Now I'm pissed...the original rough draft apparently had Goku in his blue dogi.
Goku adopting the blue dogi came off as a sign of development for his character to me, even if a bit minor. I don't know why they had to go back and change it the orange, even if it is iconic. It's not like I think he couldn't change to another dogi from the blue one, but putting him in the exact same orange one from the Cell/Buu Arc feels like a wrong step backward to me... I dunno, maybe it's just me. *shurg*

You're really comparing a rough draft to a final product?Fox666 wrote:Huh, I noticed that the art on these pages is very superior than the final vectorized art...
This will never not be my sig:

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Yeah, and I agree with him for the most part. For example, the first one on the page, with everyone reacting to the Broli-Vegetto beam clash. It has more dynamic angles and character positioning within the panels that is truer to Toriyama's style than the finalized product. Especially the first one with Goku and Gohan IMO.Sun-Wukong wrote:You're really comparing a rough draft to a final product?
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I think the original draft has Goku like that because Gogeta prefers it that way. He has his own post-manga comic that keeps Goku in the blue dogi on his own website.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Now I'm pissed...the original rough draft apparently had Goku in his blue dogi.

Gives me the feeling that Gogeta Jr. wanted the blue dogi, but Salagir wanted to change it because it reminded him of GT...
That comic is also made by him & Salagir, before abandoning it for DBM.Saiga wrote:He has his own post-manga comic that keeps Goku in the blue dogi on his own website.

I hope that isn't the real reason because that would be so dumb if it was true. It wasn't even from GT.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Gives me the feeling that Gogeta Jr. wanted the blue dogi, but Salagir wanted to change it because it reminded him of GT...![]()

Salagir seems to hate GT more than his mother's killer, so it doesn't sound impossible to me.Insertclevername wrote:I hope that isn't the real reason because that would be so dumb if it was true.

I'm pretty sure it's that very hatred that would stop him from confusing Z with GT.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Salagir seems to hate GT more than his mother's killer, so it doesn't sound impossible to me.Insertclevername wrote:I hope that isn't the real reason because that would be so dumb if it was true.
And I didn't know Salagir worked with him on the other comic, I thought it was Gogeta's own work.

Wait, I was wrong after all. Checking it again, Gogeta Jr. is credited for both script & art. What confused me was a YouTube video of that manga that credited Salagir & Gogeta Jr., seems it was false.Saiga wrote:And I didn't know Salagir worked with him on the other comic, I thought it was Gogeta's own work.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
It's interesting who has NOT been seen or even referenced in this manga.
Dr. Gero and the other androids.
The Red Ribbon army in general.
Most of the movie villains (understandable, though, since most of them were terrible).
Master Roshi
Western Kai, or indeed any of the Kais.
Chi-Chi
I guess there was no way to shoehorn them into a tournament plot, though you'd think Gero would be fun to play with. Maybe GT ruined him for Saligir.
