I wouldn't be surprised with either color. Super is the only area of the franchise with Trunks having blue hair, and Resurrection "F" is branded a Z movie.

"Why FT Trunks has blue hair in Super, but purple hair everywhere else?!" That's the question kids should be making.
DB Heroes has Time Patrol Trunks with purple hair and it will always be like that. It's not like kids didn't know FT Trunks before his debut in Super.
The blue hair is confusing for everyone.

If Toriyama forced Toei to go with Blue Hair, Toei will just follow his whim in Super.
It's possible FT Trunks gets his blue hair in this new ROF version just because of Super, but it's not like FT Trunks with purple hair will disappear.

Oh shit! I'm definitely going to watch this live when it airs. That looks awesome. I had no idea that Black was going to be in the 'F' Future Trunks Special Edition.

Assuming that is about the special and not just an upcoming episode with the logo slapped on it for some confusing reason (I doubt that), it just leaves me more confused. Black showing up in there doesn't match what little we've been told about what to expect. Not that I'm complaining. I'll take anything moderately close to the movie level animation.

I so wish it would air any Saturday than this one. I won't even be home. I was actually going to skip this F re-airing because of it (I like Future Trunks, but he's not my favorite and if this was a Cell arc rehash I figured I'd take the loss). If the Gokû Black part is at the beginning I'll probably be able to catch it, but if it's at the end I'll just be checking out screenshots later that day.

I think the special will cover the death of Gohan, the travel, Freeza's death, (maybe the androids' and Cell's deaths), and then we continue just a little bit further and get to see Goku Black coming.

In the middle of all this, I just wish they speak something about timeskip (specific time, not that "sometime later" bullshit), Dabura and Babidi, and Super Saiyan 2.

Who says the animation will be movie quality? Nobody. Just because they're airing a movie it doesn't mean they'll try to match the animation...

We can still hope for that, but I won't lie, I'm not expecting the Future Trunks material to look as good as Resurrection F or to have movie quality animation. It all really comes down to who worked on the extra material and how much time they had to put it together.

Woah. That's new footage, right? Surprised to see Black. Maybe we start on Trunks/Black to tie into the current arc, get a flashback to the Freeza fight, then go into the main film?

It's going to be one hell of a disjointed experience, but it makes sense if they want to air the movie and simultaneously promote new material.

Or maybe it's tacked on as a teaser at the end?

They will and the quality of that Black/FT Trunks new scene proves that.

Just like BOG director's cut version, the new scenes must match the original movie quality to fit in. We won't have ROF Movie with new scenes à lá DBS episode 5...
It's not like they have to animate a new movie, it's just some more minutes. And everything must look good together.
