Don't you mean they now cost £24.95 (was £34.99)? Because all I see on those links is £24.95 save £10.04, I don't see where you've got £19.95 from.dbboxkaifan wrote:DRAGON BALL Z: BUDOKAI HD COLLECTION
Now costs £19.95 (was £24.95) on Xbox 360 and PS3.
360: http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/xb ... 24961.html
PS3: http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/ps ... 24960.html
When it reaches £9.95 or £14.95 I'll think about it.

At the time I posted that it really was £19.95 but they increased it again to their normal price.

Is it known how many copies DBZ Budokai HD Collection and DBZ For Kinect sold?
Time has passed and vgchartz still doesn't have it (I searched for "dragon ball" and "dragonball" neither showed up either games).

Re: DBZ Budokai HD Collection: Official On-Going Thread
As it's Christmas here I got my copy today and I've been playing it. I can see what people mean when they say Budokai 1 had the best cutscenes. Even for characters who aren't playable or only appear in one scene, they still made models for the cutscenes. We certainly don't get that any more. I also really like that the costumes are accurate to the show, like Vegeta's armour being modified to have a hole in it.
Even though it left out a lot of important parts, it's still one of the best storymodes I've played (aside from the annoying as fuck minigames and starting some battles with less health than your opponent). I wish we could get something similar in future games.
The gameplay is worse than I remembered though. It really came a long way between Budokai 1 and B3/Infinite World. Though I like seeing the capsules in the bottom corners of the screen (it just looks nice), the physical moves look cool and I like being able to use combos to pull off the moves (even if I'm terrible at doing most of them).

I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

I'm playing it right now and the new music placement is just horrendous.

Dunno if this helps but, personally, whenever I play it, I play a little game called "Which game did that piece come from?". Gamesception, I know, but it helps take my mind off of it.DBZAOTA482 wrote:I'm playing it right now and the new music placement is just horrendous.

Re: DBZ Budokai HD Collection: Official On-Going Thread
I don't think the game should be condemned for the problem caused by a man who went as far as plagiarise other peoples music. Sure they could have got new music or chose from other songs not by Kenji which would fit better into the game. But its not like HD remakes receive large budgets. So having new songs composed for the HD remakes is out of the question and I don't think any other music would have been better for the music placement. In my opinion anyway, I could be wrong. Still, it shouldn't be up to a games company to have to clean up the mess a man created because he couldn't be bothered to come up with his own songs. I can understand why people complain about it but some people just put far too much blame on the games company for this sort of thing.DBZAOTA482 wrote:I'm playing it right now and the new music placement is just horrendous.

Really? That's a shame since I really like the Sparking English score. But if they can't actually make the music fit then that's another reason not to pick this up.DBZAOTA482 wrote:I'm playing it right now and the new music placement is just horrendous.

BT1's replacement score was Budokai music so yeah, it was pretty good.

BT1 and BT2 are great, however, BT3 meh.. So much for a quality game.
Guess they didn't care much on giving it a decent soundtrack overall for BT3.

Well, looked for this game and Kinect as I wanted to buy the Kinect one without importing, and here in CZ it's still on full price and more expensive than far better titles on XBOX, so I still hasn't bought the DBZK.......

Re: DBZ Budokai HD Collection: Official On-Going Thread
Now about the gameplay, after playing both games this is what I have to say:
Budokai 1 hasn't aged with perfection in this department while it's younger brother Budokai 3 still holds the test of time. The gameplay in the first game feels really relatively stiff (we're talking Raging Blast-stiff) and hard to enjoy. It has little of the speed and adrenaline that SHOULD be in a DBZ fighting game (or a fighting game in general). I hate the how transforming works in the first game especially with the function where if you fall down to the ground with a ki gauge less than the amount required to transform into your current form, you level down because the higher level of transformation, the faster of rate ki drains out of you and there's too little defensive options for that to work. You can guard but that takes away ki as well.

Re: DBZ Budokai HD Collection: Official On-Going Thread
I got this Collection just after it came out and am still enjoying it. I actually think they did a really good job with the replacement music. Budokai 3 in particular looks great and is still the best DBZ game ever made. It would have been nice to have had an option for English voices in the PAL version but it's no big deal. It's also great to play Budokai 1 with fast loading times after years of playing the PS2 PAL version which loaded slow as hell.
As a matter of fact I like that it uses different music. At first I thought it might bother me but really isn't that the whole point of a HD remake? A different take on a great experience? If people want the old versions then they should play the old versions on their PS2. I will always go back and play the old versions from time to time but this updated version is just as fun and has great music that still keeps the old feel of the game alive. I also really appreciated that they gave us the extra content from the Greatest Hits version as I only had the standard edition before.
Hopefully they make another HD collection with Budokai 2 and Infinite World.

Depends if you liked Budokai 1 and Budokai 3. Found it to be a better deal buying Budokai for PS2 as it features the original music and a lot cheaper.Saimaroimaru wrote:Is it worth a buy? I maybe able to get a working 360 so I may pick this up.
