He has written episodes #2, #6, #11, #12, #13, #14 and #21.

I don't know about everyone else's opinion, but those are 6 good to great episodes out of 7, with #12 really being the only bad one there.

King Ryû is my favorite scenario writer on Super. I'm so anxious for their return. I hope they get to do the "training for three years in the RoSaT" episode.

That's the entire reason I'm anxious to find out the staff for next month. I want to know when King Ryû is coming back.

I agree, he's my favorite too, he's the only one who seems to know what he's doing, he tries to develop the characters and focus a lot more on the details.

I'm gonna need that inflatable Shenron asap. I'll figure out how could I ever fit it in my flat and still be able to open the door later on

Really 12? I like epsiode 12 a lot especially the first half.. Brings back dbz memoires. That episode gave me really the fealing that the universe was going to be destroyed. The build up of the end of the universe was very good EVEN we all knew that it will never happen. I know the constant powering up looked not creatief but if the animation and especially the SOUND/music is good, they will have my respect.

Hello,

Sorry if this question has already been asked before but has it been confirmed what year DBS starts? I know BoG takes place in Age 778. I don't see any reason why DBS would have a different year but I've heard it's only a few months after the Buu saga instead of four years like BoG.

It was stated in a V-Jump issue that Super would begin 6 months after Majin Boo's death. It was also stated that Gohan & Videl were about to get married. Super starting 6 months later was also repeated in a Weekly Shonen Jump issue.

However, once Super started, the narrator said that 6 months after Majin Boo's death, the Dragon Balls were used in order to erase the memories of Majin Boo from the Earthlings, and that some time has passed since then. Then the series starts on what appears to be the same year that BoG took place, since Beerus was again sleeping for 39 years, the Dragon Balls are active once again, everyone looks exactly like in BoG, and Videl is pregnant with Pan.

And we didn't see Gohan & Videl getting married like we were told in that V-Jump issue, they were already married (recently), so the story details from there weren't very accurate. So, I really doubt that the 6 months statement was correct either, since it heavily contradicts the original manga.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

It starts 6 months after the defeat of Majin Buu. Then time passes.

The wish to erase the memory of Buu from the public during the narration is 6 months after the Majin's defeat. The mentions of timeskips after that in regards to when the Beerus material starts is only given vague "some time has passes" type statements, so we don't know for certain. (Though they don't shy away from more specific statements after Beerus' arc.)

Some people feel that it has to be sooner because Satan is getting his award for defeating Buu and Vegeta is making good on his promise to Trunks.

Then again we still have the statements on Beerus telling Freeza to destroy planet Vegeta while he slept (which is still 39 years), as well as Videls pregnancy.

The latter being moved earlier would screw up more than the previous stuff happening later though.

I'm sure it'll be another seiyū. Ryūsei Nakao doesn't voice every person who is from Freeza's race. Remember, King Cold was voiced by someone else.

To be fair, Cold is kind of the outlier there though - he's the only member of Freeza's race that Nakao hasn't voiced. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Nakao picked up the role if he were ever to appear in future games again or something.

As much as I love Nakao though, I'd personally hope for a new actor for the new guy. Especially since we'll have just come off of an arc with Nakao back in the mix too.

I was thinking about this... how many episodes do you think it'll take to tell the events that lead up to the beginning of the tournament?

I'd give it four. Ever since the F arc started, Super's been flying in terms of how fast the plot is moving.

ReBOG was kinda slow, but reF is moving like Toei just wants to get it over with.

Not about Dragon Ball but Dr Slump. And just too awesome to not share.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Considering how much time the magna is taking building up the tournament(which is supposed to be a very sped up version), i would say 10-12 episodes. Considering how much episodes they took to retell a movie which is max 90 mins.

10 to 12 before the tournament even starts? I have an extremely hard time believing that. Especially with the partial title for episode 29 already mentioning the tournament is going to be a thing. I'll guess that our character will arrive at the tournament grounds by Episode 5, maaaaaybe 6, at the latest.

I made my calculation considering how much time they take adapting a movie. The new manga chapters are at least 60 mins worth of content, and the magna probably skipped some stuff too.

60 minutes doesn't translate to 10 episodes, it translates to 3. And 4 or 5 is what I'd bet, considering they'll probably extend Goku and Vegeta's training. Super's pacing isn't as terrible as you're making it out to be.
