Both TV Specials will be 1 hour long and will air on Dragon Ball Super/One Piece time slots, so no ToP for two weeks which is good for the production.

We could still have a situation where it's confirmed this where Karasawa and Shida have been and that's depressing. Especially Shida. I doubt that in 2 hours there won't something from him in there...

I would like these TV Specials turn out to be a quick retelling of everything that happened in both series since day one (In DB case, from DB to Super) to celebrate 100 episodes of DBS and One Piece 20th Anniversary. Seems a better thing to do than come out with another lame original plot for a crossover like the last one.
I'd much rather an original story, it'd be a nice little break in the ToP. Also I doubt the One Piece special would be a retelling considering they are just about to air a retelling special.
I don't think there's any reason to worry about this hurting Super in any way, we're getting a break in September and then the two week break due to these two specials, so at worst I would think we just go back to business as usual after the DB special. I'm also sure that this has been planned well enough that it won't rely on the Super main staff alone, so I don't think it'll do any damage. I don't think the end of this arc is in sight, I'm starting to think the arc won't end till December or January, so if this is where Karasawa and Shida have been we'd still have time for them to show up in the ToP, especially if Shida went straight from episode 95 to this special since that would likely mean he'd finish his work on it well before it even airs.

I'm actually more exicted for Episode of East Blue than Roshi episode this week! But just like the name tells, that Special will only retell the East Blue part. What I meant was a quick retelling of everything from the beginning until now.

I honestly wouldn't put it past Toei anyway. We are talking about the same studio than gave us three different versions of ROF in less than 2 years - ROF Movie, ROF arc and ROF Special.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

There was no F special, the reanimated parts of Namek to fill the timeslot they needed for the TV airing of F.

Not sure if this was answered yet, but are there any corrections from the latest blu-ray?

Just like it happened with BOG Movie, it was promoted as a Special Edition of ROF.

I hope this TV special has the same quality that Goku vs. Freeza recap was.

Here are the images that have been released for episode 105. I think the last image looks like Hirotaka Nii.

The amount of times Goku's been sexually harassed from behind in this arc has been astronomical.

Not much to say, art stayed on model and there were a few bits of nice direction, but over all there wasn't much going on animation wise.
Not much to say about the NEP either, though I noticed a Shimanuki shot that looked pretty bad.

Just another episode that had serviceable enough animation and art for the context of the scenarios in the episode. Nothing bad but nothing really good. The NEP didn't really show anything promising either.

And it had to be a Tenshinhan episode, Toei continue to troll him for the looks of it, now giving him what it looks, the worst animated episode since 67.

NEP doesn't always look that great don't judge before you watch this tournament has been solid in animation and art since it has started

If you're talking about the next episode, this was the only ugly shot in the NEP

The shot above of Gohan and Piccolo is a single frame while both are turning their heads.

Episode 105

Animation Supervisors
Noel Ano-Nuevo
Joey Calangian
Hirotaka Nii

Key Animation
Shuuichiro Manabe
Takenori Tsukuma
Hong Beom-seok
Shoichi Funaki
Tatsuya Oka
Masato Ikeda

Toei Phils.
Yoshitaka Kato
Takahiro Yamakita

Kaori Takamura
Mido Douga

-

The credits are divided weirdly this week, so I have no idea what's 2nd KA and what's not. Considering Kato is typically a key animator, I'd guess that Kaori Takamura and Mido Douga were handling 2nd KA. That and the fact the first half screamed Toei Phils to me... and you know, the supervisors. Yamakita's an inbetweener usually, so I guess he got promoted?

Anyway, that was a lame episode and next week looks horrendous. Hopefully the final result is more pleasing that than preview.

Wait, Manabe did animation on an episode that was otherwise outsourced? That's strange.

I think he came to help out. Depending on when his next episode is, he could be getting a lot of time.

Shimanuki is probably busy prioritizing his key animation (and supervision?) for Dragon Ball Super TV Special, which may cause his uncharacteristic drawing in the episode preview. Super still is, after all, in a tight schedule.

I'm guessing Ishikawa on 107 and Yashima on 108, so if Manabe was 109 he'd have 12 weeks between his episodes, so him showing up here would make sense. It's also possible his next episode might be 110 even.
Kitano needs to show up again, I guess they could pair him with anybody on any of the upcoming episodes.

It looks like he's still going to deliver some nice stuff, the Goku and Vegeta shooting their blasts near the end looks good and from what I could tell that was Shimanuki.

EDIT:Seeing the NEP again, but in HD, nothing really looks bad other than that Shimanuki shot I posted above. The opening shot of Piccolo and Gohan is tweened a bit weirdly, but it's not that big of a deal.
