Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

I doubt it. I mean, I'd love if that happened too. God knows I'd buy the damn thing for a handful of new sketches, but wasn't the Chogashuu the first manga-specific artbook released since Daizenshuu #1 in 1995? I think there would have to be years of content generated before anything new gets published.
The 2013 movie received its very own artbook. It's incredibly short (46 pages), retailed for roughly $6, and contained all of Toriyama's artwork from the movie (and much more).
I'm really hoping we get something like that. It doesn't have to be a Chōgashū to be good.

I can't count the number of times I've had to point out elsewhere that even ignoring the color changes, Freeza's traits have changed more with his Ultimate Evolution than Goku's did with his God form.
I never said it was a recolor. And I been saw the new details. Still hated the design. Hence why I said. The more I look at it. The more I hate. Like I see that his legs are different too and his whole body actually went through a change. Just the form sucks for me.
I was typing in response to others like kei17 before you, but the threat just moves too damn fast anymore. This was never aimed at you or anyone on the forum, hence why I said "elsewhere".

Revival of F may get an official Movie Guide like you as you just linked to for Battle of Gods, but just because it has art within it, that doesn't really make in an "artbook."

I know. I was just giving my opinions on your post.

Oh wow, good point. The manga makes it look like Tagoma and Sorbet make themselves scarce ASAP. Maybe they did not know? Its not as if anyone Freeza-related had been to Earth for over a decade by that point.

In light of things, and doing some manga and anime comparisons, there are some differences. I guess I can say it's better than Super Saiyan God at least. Not like that is much of a compliment. Still it's so lacking compared to everything that came before.
Spoiler:
I really enjoy the character designs. I like how everyone looks. It's just the transformations that seem to get the bland treatment.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

These sorts of comments really don't help.

This "people just like it because it's Toriyama!" talk needs to stop too. It's impossible to have a conversation if you won't even admit that other people can have different opinions than you for legitimate reasons.

Oh, huh. Not sure I'd call that an artbook, but all the same I didn't know that it contained all of Toriyama's sketches he did for the movie. I'd definitely pick up a Revival of "F" version if it did the same thing, just because I stand by what I said before: it'll (probably) be years before we get another Chogashuu.
Wow, had to catch up on 150+ pages of this thread.
Surprised to see Jaco. While he has officially appeared in English Weekly Shonen Jump by Viz, a lot of folks won't know who he is. Thankfully, we have something called Google.
