Yeah, probably more DUB fans than Japanese fans.

I gaurantee that most people who watch Dragon Ball dubbed wouldn't even notice the voice change. Naldony was Goku for a couple of years. She's not even as established as Schemmel.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:Actually, to dub fans, she is. In America, yes.
And why does being a Japanese DUB automatically make you a "better" type of fan? You guys always seem to imply that Dub fans "Wouldn't notice any changes if they where made"

Yeah, neither do I. A few comments on YouTube, and that's it.

Re: Curse of the Blood Rubies WILL Have a New Dub--CONFIRMED
You know what? I'll buy it. As much as I hate that Stephanie Nadolny isn't returning to voice Goku here. I am willing to give Colleen Clinkenbeard a chance. After all she is doing well with Gohan, and I can't wait to hear how she handles the younger version of his father. Monica Rial as Bulma? fine with me as she is doing a great job as her in Kai. Here is where we will see how Bryan Massey can handle Oolong as so far we haven't seen him much in Kai. Brina Palencia as Puar sounds so similar to Monika Antonelli's that I can't really tell a difference between them.
Because this forum is emphasized on the Japanese version.Bardo117 wrote:In America, yes.

People noticed the voice changes in Kai, and those weren't even for the main character.penguintruth wrote:I gaurantee that most people who watch Dragon Ball dubbed wouldn't even notice the voice change.
Nadolny voiced Kid Gokū in every single episode of Dragon Ball, GT and in some of the video games. To dub fans, Nadolny is Kid Gokū. She is definately as established as Schemmel.penguintruth wrote: Naldony was Goku for a couple of years. She's not even as established as Schemmel.

No, the majority of people who are out there buying the releases won't notice and/or care about any changes that were made. Which is not the people bitching on the internets, by any stretch of the imagination.Bardo117 wrote:In America, yes.

There was a huge shitstorm about the cast in the Sonic the Hedgehog game series getting replaced. My younger brother played Sonic Riders, noticed the change, and just kept playing. Those games continue to sell(enough to warrant sequels, not just brand new games).
Online communities for everything that exists are minorities.

Are you guys serious? Why is it also implied that "People who bought the season sets don't care about the dub, or the quality"?
Just because those people don't post on forums to tell everybody what they think, doesn't mean they don't care.

Because the dub has horrid acting, the colors on certain sets are washed out, the aspect ratio is fucked, the advertisements had blatant lies within them...?Bardo117 wrote:Are you guys serious? Why is it also implied that "People who bought the season sets don't care about the dub, or the quality"?

All the majority cares about is an English dubbed release. Good and bad are irrelevant. DBZ is largely looked upon as "that show" from the late '90s people watched as children(read: they watched when they were too young to discern quality). Add on top of that the cheap pricing, and the first real consistent release of the series, of course the bricks sold.

Clearly there's very little outrage over Goku's VA being replaced. That's my observation. It's the same few people.

Oh no! Goku's voice is being changed for one movie. I get the outcry but calm down at least we're getting a new dub.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:There will be once the news starts spreading around more. You have to put yourself in dub fans' shoes. What if Curse of the Blood Rubies was an entirely new movie, and Nozawa was announced to be replaced as Kid Gokū, without any explanation. I know I'd be pissed (I actually liked Nozawa as Kid Gokū).AgitoZ wrote:Oh no! Goku's voice is being changed for one movie. I get the outcry but calm down at least we're getting a new dub.

Naldony isn't nearly as iconic in the role as Nozawa. Not even close.
And certainly nowhere near as good, either.

Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!
