My issue, even as someone who hasn't seen it, is that even though there isn't a manga the show has to slow down to accommodate, it still seems like they are padding it out.

Sorry, I thought it was clear that I was referring to Super. I've seen all of GT.TheGreatness25 wrote:What haven't you seen?ABED wrote:I can't speak to the actual plots, but isn't the animation one of the things people fell in love with in the first place? Why change the formula?

Oh, okay. Yeah, same here. That's why I can really only talk about the GT side of the fence and pre-warn everyone that anything I say about Super is based on what I hear and little clips here and there.
Re: So has GT been forgiven yet?
At least GT gave Pan a series where she was an important character. We wouldn't get that again for another eighteen years and now she's just a baby.

GT was trash mainly because goku was wished into a kid, and the series focused on trash bag pan and pedo trunks going into space.
Would've loved to see more vegeta, goten, and trunks training, gohan training, and goku grooming uub to be the earths protector.
None of this pilaf garbage, super 17 garbage, general rild etc...

the last 2 episodes of goku black has been terrible though. I'm glad they took a week off. They need to get this togetherprecita wrote:Super has genuinely good arcs and ideas. The movie adaption episodes were a low point.
The Champa arc was pretty decent and the Goku Black saga is great so far. Many of the slice of life episodes were also good.

I've combined a couple of your posts - you're able to post, respond, and quote with regard to multiple things in one post of your own, and we encourage you to do this rather than making multiple posts in a row.
Also, it's worth noting that there not being an episode for a week generally doesn't have any impact what-so-ever on the production process of the show.
Would you care to elaborate here? What exactly has been "terrible"? With the exception of some off-model drawings in some standing-around scenes, I've greatly enjoyed the storytelling and atmosphere in the most recent two episodes.jplaya2023 wrote:the last 2 episodes of goku black has been terrible though. Since when is Trunks a pedophile and since when are 1/3 of GT the main "focus"? There is more but I guess those questions are enough.

Re: So has GT been forgiven yet?
terrible to me meaning the fighting has stopped. Goku and Black was being billed as an epic showdown which essentially lasted 5 minutes. SInce then we seen them clamoring over a time machine, and trunks spending an entire epsiode with gohan. I get they want to try and show this, but with black being as strong as he is, i'd like to see vegeta take trunks to the rosat and have him train to get stronger, or trunks and gohan going in.VegettoEX wrote:I've combined a couple of your posts - you're able to post, respond, and quote with regard to multiple things in one post of your own, and we encourage you to do this rather than making multiple posts in a row.

The last episode was trunks talking to gohan and playing with pan, the action has stopped, i wanted to see really vegeta fight black, or goku use full power and just kill black right away. Goku is always playing with enemies while vegeta's seriousness would've finished off black sooner. I just feel like the last 2 eps are filler and they're stretching this arc out.
the relationship in GT between trunks and pan comes off as little to much "romantic" for me given the difference in their ages. Trunks is in his early 20s and pan is what 11?Cetra wrote:What?jplaya2023 wrote:GT was trash mainly because goku was wished into a kid, and the series focused on trash bag pan and pedo trunks going into space.

Re: So has GT been forgiven yet?
See, that's more helpful of an answer.
That being said, I disagree 100% with your assessment. The action stopping does not, to me, suddenly mean the show is no longer good. If anything, it's the exact opposite; giving us a chance to examine these characters, their motivations, and their goals will ultimately make the impending battle that much more exciting. I don't get anything at all out of Goku and Black sizing each other up; that's not exciting to me in the least.
And... err... to tie it back to the GT discussion, the same goes for that series. I always found the action the least-interesting thing about it, with the character moments far-eclipsing everything else.
I got into Dragon Ball for the action, but that's not what has kept me here for over 20 years.
(And yeah, Cetra's assessment of your assessment rings true.)

I'd like to know as well cause this is the 1st time it's been brought up and I've seen GT multiple times and don't remember anything like that.Cetra wrote:What scene are you referring to to call it "romantic"?jplaya2023 wrote:

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: So has GT been forgiven yet?
There is even a scene where Pan hides a key in her shirt and Trunks does not try a single thing - of course. So how he is a pedophile I cannot grasp. Actually not even taking the key from her would mean he is a pedophile. I think people on the internet overuse words like "sexist", "homophobic", "pedophile", "racist", "autistic" (the last one being some sort of weird trend for some reason used by people who really have literally no idea about psychology) and many more these days, not knowing what these things are about.

Pan in GT caused more problems than she solved... she was hardly "important".SSJ Human wrote:At least GT gave Pan a series where she was an important character. We wouldn't get that again for another eighteen years and now she's just a baby.
Super Pan is infinitely less annoying and cooler despite only being a baby.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

I meant that she was a main character that we got to see for more than two chapters like the manga.DBZAOTA482 wrote:Pan in GT caused more problems than she solved... she was hardly "important".SSJ Human wrote:At least GT gave Pan a series where she was an important character. I like Pan in Super. I just wish that we could see her grow up.
Re: So has GT been forgiven yet?
Yeah, most instances of people accusing people of these are either because somone doesn't understand the situation, or just doesn't have to balls to have a conversation and can only talk behinda computer (That whole manspreading debocal comes to mind)Cetra wrote:I think people on the internet overuse words like "sexist", "homophobic", "pedophile", "racist", "autistic"
Also, I don't see how Trunks is remotly pedophilic (Did I type that right?), there's really no such hints of him having a romantic interest in Pan. The only time I though those two would get together was when I first watched the show, and that's because I was 8 and thought they were both 16...

It's the new version of "that's gay" or "you're a faggot" and all that "creative" cursing. People can't just call someone an "idiot" or "shithead" or something, they have to go for that stuff and "autistic." Then you got the other half which is overly sensitive and starts going too far the other way, accusing everyone of being "racist," "sexist," etc. I really wish people didn't think that it was cute to speak that way.Cetra wrote:I think people on the internet overuse words like "sexist", "homophobic", "pedophile", "racist", "autistic" (the last one being some sort of weird trend for some reason used by people who really have literally no idea about psychology) and many more these days, not knowing what these things are about.

I think that a lot of the time those that throw around terms like "racist" and "sexist" do so to intimidate and end the conversation instead of exchanging ideas.TheGreatness25 wrote:It's the new version of "that's gay" or "you're a faggot" and all that "creative" cursing. Re: So has GT been forgiven yet?
Well to get back on topic, I don't mind GT leaving everybody out because the give a plausible scenario. They are in space. GT at least recognizes that the new tier so far outclasses the old gang it's almost insulting. The one thing I do appreciate is that in GT when things are going down you're never left to wonder where everybody is. They kinda all show up in one way or another, yes that happened in Super too but just saying that I'm glad they weren't forgotten.
Re: So has GT been forgiven yet?
Pan and Trunks were still outclassed so that doesn't explain them going into space. I firmly believe that Piccolo and Vegeta were stronger and would have made more sense to go along instead.TheMikado wrote:Well to get back on topic, I don't mind GT leaving everybody out because the give a plausible scenario.
