So sad to hear this news. At first I thought it was a rumor or joke but to see it now just breaks my heart.

I don't think I can make it through the scene where Goku Black kills future Bulma now. Now that scene will be extra sad.

Yeah. It feels odd to show Bulma herself, but what got me is that, right now, Bulma has no voice.Robo4900 wrote:Very poignant.KBABZ wrote:[GIF from the DB closer with the rain]

I thought it was a joke too. I even said aloud "Yeah, sure!". I really wish I had been right...MKCSTEALTH wrote:So sad to hear this news. At first I thought it was a rumor or joke but to see it now just breaks my heart.

I tried not to post anything about those sad news, since I was so struck I had no idea what to say... Truth be told, I still don't know. I am just left with such an empty feeling inside, the manner of which I never felt for any artist I've loved when their time eventually came. The "pain" is great enough that I can barely care about anything Dragon Ball right now... Videogame news, new manga chapter out, new episode tomorrow and I am just not feeling them the same way I did only as far as a day ago.
I guess it's a combination of her being so young, Bulma being such an integral part of the franchise, everything being so sudden and this being my first time experiencing a cast member go while the series is still going.
I am not one to say that the character should be retired, as I feel that goes against the actor's hard work, but at the same time I can't deny the feeling that some things will never be the same between me and the series.
May you rest in peace, Hiromi Tsuru! For all the joy you helped bring to me and others of my kind, you have earned that much.

I sympathize with you as I felt similarly after learning about Chester Bennington's death.Draconic wrote:I tried not to post anything about those sad news, since I was so struck I had no idea what to say... The main site has a revised banner of Bulma:

The image is from the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump No. 43 from 1986, and was the fourth time Bulma was depicted in colour.

I'm surprised it was Tsuru-sensei who died rather than one of the older Seiyuus...she was so young (to die I mean), this is sad. Rest in peace.

Very nice, I think we should have one for the forum banner as well.KBABZ wrote:The main site has a revised banner of Bulma:

The forum banner normally doesn't have a character there in the first place. Not that I disagree, but the significance is that Bulma replaces the usual Kid Goku.Asura wrote:Very nice, I think we should have one for the forum banner as well.KBABZ wrote:The main site has a revised banner of Bulma:

Caught the news on the way into work.
She was so young, but her loss for me is made so much worse by the youth and vivacity she brought to her role whether she was playing a 16 year old or a mother of two.
I feel empty and shitty and sad.

Re: Hiromi Tsuru, Bulma's voice actor, has passed away.
I'm literally crying from hearing these news.
Rest in Peace.
I can say with complete honesty that even though I'm not a big fan of the character of Bulma, I've always thought that the best part of her is her voice. I generally dont care for the shrill and kind of whiny "anime girl" voices of which Bulma is admitadly an example, but Hiromi Tsuru somehow managed to pull it of and be pleasant to listen to. And I honestly found her voice more and more pleasant the older she got. In DBS especially, Bulma's voice felt at the same time cute and girlish like it's supposed to be but had also matured into a sort of comforting motherly voice.
I will miss her.

R.I.P Tsuru-san. Couldn't have imagined your passing, but you left us all with a truly amazing gift. Thank you for everything.
