Do you guys have any hopes for the next episode? How do you expect it to go down?
Degesu will use the power of the EVIL THIRD EYE OH NO OMFG against the heroes. They will pretend to get their asses kicked for 20 minutes, then Goku/Vegeta/Piccolo will pull a transformation out of their asses and win effortlessly, probably SSJ3 Goku.
As an added bonus, the Special Forces Brazil will show up, get their asses kicked, then die along with Gomah, but Daima has never been a big fan of solving two things in a single episode, so maybe just the Degesu plot.
At a certain point, it's going to HAVE to solve more than one thing in a single episode....right? I feel like there are more unresolved things than episodes left:
-Piccolo being useful
-Neva's true motivations
-Glorio's true allegiance
-The Legally Distinct from the Ginyu Force Force
-Gomah and the Evil Third Eye
-Fusion Bugs
-Kuu and Duu
-Arinsu's true plans
-Degesu's true allegiance
-Rescuing Dende (I legitimately almost forgot about this)
-Becoming adults again
-Kadan's fate (ie: will he die fighting or maybe become the next demon king?)
I'm very much prepared for some "lolz this didn't even matter CUE PRATFALL" resolutions to these things, but it all still has to happen at SOME point.

Sorry for the delay, busy week.
No problem. You and me both, brother.

I don’t think the battle necessarily had to be viewed as a waste of time. As I said in this thread, it had potential to be the first stage of a thrilling climax. It’s the lacklustre presentation that killed the momentum.
I wouldn't say I necessarily disagree. Pointing back to my initial thoughts on the episode this thread, my problem with their conflict
is ultimately that it's not a serious one and therefore shouldn't have taken so much runtime to begin with, even if I think there's a viable in-universe reason for it. I think if you're going to have fights with goons in a lighthearted adventure like Daima, it needs the kind of comedic, irreverent flair signature of Toriyama's style. Episode 16 aired today and had exactly that with the Gendarmerie Special Forces, so I do believe I was on the mark there.
Though I'd have to maintain that Daima's tension is inherently pretty limited by default as another midquel. That's not to say it can't have its own sense of tension, I guess, which I'll readily opine is better served here in the home stretch.

Well, it's definitely better than Super's synth-based themes.
I do love myself classic orchestra-based soundtracks, but I still struggle to remember a single theme from this show.
With Super, I at least remembered the recap music, the "diabetic happy ending synth theme", and the Ultra Instinct riff that sounds suspiciously identical to Aladdin. But every time I try to remember from Daima, I draw a blank.
It's not bad, it's just... fine enough.
It makes sense, thus far there's only the main theme (that gets eyecatch and action re-arrangements), as well as the OP's different re-arrangements which have all been good in their own way.
Maybe a standalone listen might lead to a better appreciation of the material once the CD set comes out (and perhaps streaming releases). I felt the same way with more than a few modern soundtracks from this decade which also happened to be made by industry veterans.
Although there wasn't that much that could be done except to make proper themes around the villain side, which was somewhat of a missed opportunity.
