Vegeta's upset about "that line" (meaning the "my Bulma!!!" one) being repeated for Super, saying it's more embarrassing than the bingo thing. He's also upset that if things go the same as in BoG, then Goku will secretly be watching him the whole time. Goku tells him not to be so embarrassed, since the fact that he says that just shows he loves Bulma. Vegeta yells at Goku to shut up, though he obviously does love her (ie he considers it too obvious to mention, and isn't comfortable with people saying it out loud).

Herms! You are the best! THANK YOU!

Very in character for them. xD

Also: after being defeated, Goku mentions that fusion between he and Vegeta still wouldn't be enough contend with Beerus. Is it possible to get that exact translation as well?

From the actually good subs you should be watching instead of that garbage:
Beerus wrote:I see. I heard you defeated Freeza...
You don't look like you'd possibly be able to beat him as you are now,
but you're one of those transforming Saiyans, right?
You can turn into that Super Saiyan thing.
and the other line:
Goku wrote:This ain't good...
The only way to get stronger would be to merge with Vegeta...
And even then, I don't think I could win.
The word "merge" being 合体する, ie referring the merger performed by the Potara earrings, not the fusion performed by the Fusion Dance.

They do use 合体 to refer to the Fusion dance too sometimes; Goku even calls it a 合体技 when introducing it in chapter 469. So I don't think you can necessarily rule out that it's what Goku has in mind in Super ep.5, even though he doesn't specifically say フュージョン.

Herms do you think Kaioshin > Piccolo? Throughout the context makes much more sense Piccolo be stronger than Kaioshin. Piccolo withdrew from the fight because discover who Kaioshin was; Piccolo say Kaioshin belongs to another order of being makes more sense considering the entire context.

Piccolo > Goku base ~ Yakon > East Kaioshin

Piccolo > Goku base ~ Yakon > East Kaioshin
Kaioshin wasn't weaker that Yakon. He was afraid for him not because of his battle power, but because he had magical abilities, and he didn't know what he was capable of, but he knew that he must be dangerous since Babidi only gathers the most powerful fighters in the universe. He told Goku to fight him together because he was just cautious.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Piccolo > Goku base ~ Yakon > East Kaioshin
This is a translation request thread, not a strength debate thread. Clarification on something like that cannot be made here.

And everyone else, please do remember that anyone helping you out with translations is doing it out of the kindness of their heart and on their free time. Dumping something totally random without any context at all or reason for why you might want it translated doesn't provide much incentive.

Most of these are cut off so that you can't even read the full sentences half the time.

I have a request:

Could you translate the manga version of Goku decision to stay dead at the end of the Cell arc? And could you also translate what Goku said to Trunks (at the mountain place) when they met before going to the Time Chamber?

As expected of Vegeta. He's starting to vaguely see what lies ahead of Super Saiyan.

None of them look to say anything too interesting. Just basic stuff.

I noticed an inconsistency in the VIZ translation where it asserts Vegeta is the one that killed Piccolo and Tenshinhan, when Nappa was clearly the one responsible.

Is this another Toriyama blunder, or a mistranslation?

ImageImage

There's also a panel that in the VIZ translation has Vegeta say "we [killed Piccolo on Earth]" instead of "I":

Tenshinhan says he was killed by "you bastards" (きさまら), presumably meaning Vegeta and Nappa. In the second Vegeta panel, Vegeta says "we" (オレたち) killed Piccolo. The first Vegeta panel leaves out the subject (fairly common in Japanese), so we don't know for sure if he means "I" or "we" or what; Viz just filled in the blank as they thought fit. We might assume based on the other two panels though that he meant "we".

Vegeta did order Nappa to kill Piccolo and the others when they found out Goku was going to be there soon. I think it's fair to say he shares some culpability in the act.
