"Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters" FUNimation English Dub Official Announcement and Discussion Thread

So Wikipedia's list of Kai episodes is already on-track to becoming a total mess. The editors are now adding the Final Chapters dub titles onto the Japanese version's episodes, and no one seems to either have an idea of how to handle there being two different versions or are even aware there are two different versions.

Guess we'll see how this plays out.

Once the Blu-Rays come out, I'll just go edit Wikipedia with the correct episode titles and descriptions. But how will the Japanese airfares match up with the English ones for episodes?

It lists 98 episodes, but that's still 46 more episodes than have been listed for the past 5 years on that site. Maybe it'll keep getting updated every week as new episodes air.

Its an improvement though, it used to only go up to Part 4 at 52 Episodes. But they got rid of the Characters bios section, Videos section which had trailers, clips, and episodes, and the DVD and Blu-Ray Home Releases section which had all the releases up to Season 1 and Part 6.

I think it may get updated with more later on down the road, and they just put out what they had ready now ahead of the airing

I expect the products section to come back either as a link to Funimation's site or just a subpage with links to the season sets

Character bios, though, I expect to be left off honestly

Absolutely. She sounds almost exactly like Laura.

I felt like she was trying a little too hard at a few points to sound like a boy, but that could be fridge logic'd to Trunks just getting older, since he'd be what, 10, or 11? I recall someone noting a similar thing for 11 year old Gwen being voiced by Ashley Johnson, just like her 16-17 year old self, rather than her original actress in Ben 10: Omniverse.
My main concern was her not being able to match Bailey's tone, but she did really well. She'll probably grow into the voice more as she voices him more, but other than that, really good choice, Sabat.
I felt Chi Chi & Goten's voices were a bit hit or miss though. Edwards constantly fluctuated between her normal tone for Goten & a higher-pitched voice between lines & Chi Chi's actress sounded like she was just overcoming strep throat or something for a good portion of her dialogue. Hope they get better as the episodes come.

BTW, I have my own thread for the English Dub in general for the inconsistencies for it. Join us there, as I reposted that initial reply there as well & someone's already responded to it.

I concur. I knew Laura Bailey was replaced because it was announced ahead of time, but were it not for that, I would think it was Laura Bailey herself. Alexis Tipton did a phenomenal voice-match.
