Well, the context was given: Beerus tells that Goku was the second strongest that he ever fought, and after tells that finally has something to share with Goku. That was that Whis is his martial arts master. And Goku suddenly thought that he is who was the 1th strongest, that Beerus ever fought. It's highly evident that Whis was the one Beerus refered to when he spoke about his 1st strongest foe. But maybe there was another being who was stornger than Goku but weaker than Beerus, and Beerus never really fought Whis, but it's unlikely.

As long as Toriyama is the one doing the stories then nothing is out of question.

That's right! Personally I see unlikely to be other than Whis who Beerus spoke about.

Toriyama stated that Whis would be a 15, while Beerus and Goku would be a 10 and 6 respectively. Couple that with what was left implied in that scene and it's painfully obvious that it's Whis.

Of course this doesn't rule out that the adversary could be stronger than both Beerus and Whis and Beerus just happened to never fight him. Highly unlikely, but possible.

It's so heavily implied that Beerus is referring to Whis. He looks over there, Whis kinda coughs... I mean, let's not get crazy with these interpretations!

Even if someone has doubts about it, somehow, Chozenshuu #4 confirms that Beerus is talking about Whis being the #1.

Right now its Whis but if AT needs to retcon Whis being the strongest Beerus ever faced he will.

He doesn't need to retcon, only just have a new overpowered villain that Beerus did not met, who can overwhelm even Whis.

OR

I've got a new idea. What if the wish was made long ago by someone of Z-senshi, but it wasn't said then that wish was the worst? So now this wish's consequences are presented in the movie. Possibily Toriyama retcons an ealrier wish to be the worst ever, for example when Shenlon resurrected the Elder Guru, when he didn't die of violent causes, just only because of frustration or of age.

I have hopes for September's VJump. That was the one last year that announced stuff. It'll probably be October though, because October had both V and Saikyou.

I need to rid myself of that reflex every time I see this thread bumped.

With all the XV stuff going on right now, I've lost confidence that this month's VJump will have any DB15 updates; they don't want to steal XV's thunder and VJump is a video game magazine after all. I feel it's gonna be October at the earliest before we get any news on the movie.

The more time passes the more impossible an update seems, even though I know they could update any time TuT

I really am excited about this movie. I never thought we'd get a sequel this fast (I thought for sure it'd be a 2016 thing). I loved the way Toriyama wrote Gokû in BOG so I can't wait to see what he does with this next story. The biggest point of interest for it atm for me is "Torishima liked it" because I've read he's a difficult-to-please editor and it makes me so curious. Also I'm really hoping Gokû uses his ssjg form again in DB15 because I am an easy sell when there's cute transformations involved, especially when it's my favorite DB character who got one.

Vegeta Bingo was something I feel I would've enjoyed more back when I was newer fan, but it still entertained me. I like awkward-situation-for-Vegeta stuff.
I still would like to know what missing scenes those other headshot drawings of Vegeta in the BOG mook would've gone too; there's some great facial expressions for him in there.

The wait. I have no doubt that we won't get loads of info like we did with BOG. Between magazines, leaks, Toei website stuff, Jump Festa, and info from Kei and Julian I'm sure we'll be set like last time. (Ah, but is Julian leaving Japan to come back to the U.S. before DB15 news really starts heating up? I think I've heard something eluding to that, but don't know if I interpreted it correctly or if I did that it's even still happening.)
