Oh yeah, that's right. Totally got that switched around in my head. Though like I said at the time, those two summaries oddly seem like they should go with each other's episode titles:

Episode 12: The Universe Crumbles?! Clash! The God of Destruction vs Super Saiyan God!
Though it seemed that even the power of Super Saiyan God was no match for Beerus' overwhelming power, Goku awakens even further and utilizes Super Saiyan God's true power. But Beerus also undergoes a further transformation, and comes at Goku with even more formidable power. Can Goku defeat Beerus and save the Earth?

So...maybe there was some slip-up and they got the episode summaries switched? Either way, I do expect Beerus' "transformation" to merely be him powering up, so yeah, maybe it was the dragon thing from this episode.

What would be a good alternative, i wonder? I can't find anything reliable...the effect of the shockwaves in ep. 12, for instance, is very poorly explained in the speed subs i checked.

Dragon Team aren't going anywhere. Your only other option is Inert. Quite a loose translator, but nothing outrageously wrong so far. Has a habit of swapping between dub and Japanese terms, though.

There's nothing said about the universe being destroyed "over time". That sounds like a mistranslation of them saying the universe will be destroyed if Goku and Beerus clash 2~3 more times.

Drawing this from out of the main Episode 12 thread:

Yes, that's a quite literal translation of そのすさまじい攻撃が悟空のハートに火を付けた. Somewhat interestingly, that's using the English word "heart" (ハート/haato) rather than the Japanese word 心/kokoro.

And this one from the General Announcement thread:

Yeah, the subtitles I saw said "my full power", but from what I heard of the actual spoken dialogue, all he said was something along the lines of (it's been a day or two) "ore no chikara", or "Hakaishin no chikara" or something? I don't remember the exact phrasing. Point is, from what I heard it was more like just, "I'll show you my power", rather than "full power" as the subs implied.

That's right, at the end of ep.11 Beerus just say's he'll show Goku "my power" (僕の力/boku no chikara, according to the Japanese CC anyway). Of course, Beerus has technically been showing Goku his power all along, so in context he presumably means he'll show Goku more of his power than he's previously shown him. That's probably why those subs went with "my full power".

He was actually supposed to "transform" last episode, but didn't. So either that's going to happen later, or "transform" is just a metaphorical way of describing Beerus using his full power.

Beerus: “Well, it’d look bad, wouldn’t it? I’m a god. To use my full power against a Saiyan…I’d rather die than make a fool of myself like that…Or so I had thought, anyway. But I don’t want to lose this fight, no matter what! I don’t care how bad or how stupid I look! I’ll beat the tar out of you and prove that I’m overwhelmingly stronger!”

Significance: Well, that’s a non-explanation if ever I heard one.

When Kaio Shin says "it's just a fight" can that somehow possibly refer to them fighting at 100% which somehow nullifies the universal damage? Because I agree... that Elder Kaio Shin quote makes absolutely no sense.

Great work as always. Makes watching the Raw version bearable. I just cant wait for even a bad sub.
