Understandable. Legalities and what not.

Is there any lines further along in the script that sound more in-character for "Goku"? Of everyone, he's the one that worries me the most. I really don't want him to sound like...well, not him.

Or, conversely, does he drop his high school angsting for good post-Gohan-Sr's-death?


Or, when, where, and how do the bangs finally appear?


Whichever question's the safest legally to answer at the moment. ^^;;;

Maybe the tournament's prize is a dragon ball. That would give them a reason to enter, and I'm sure Goku would like an excuse to fight.

1) Yes, he does drop out of high school and it's never mentioned again.
2) Here's a Goku moment:

BULMA
I've tried every possible spelling of Roshi in the directory. He's not listed.

GOKU
Did you try Master?

Bulma just stares at him. Beat.

GOKU (CONT'D)
M... A... S...

BULMA
I know how to spell Master! He's not going to be listed under Master!

3) Probably at the end.
That's probably the first sign of Goku we've seen the whole film!

And Bulma still seems pretty Bulma-like.

Could be, but it depends on the execution. If it's typically teenage angsty "I'm bored/annoyed" Goku, then it loses the opportunity.

JAPPO, what else has this guy given you? I'm just curious about whether he's taking you for a ride, since this seems a bit....fan-fictiony.

That line is... fantastic. Even I was a bit worried he'd act "nothing" like Goku aside from the heroics and the itching to fight and the appetite, now it looks like we're getting at least SOME typical-Goku naivety and cluelessness as well. Nice. :D

There's lots of subtle stuff only fans will get. There's also a ton of foreshadowing to other races that could definitely open up possibilities to sequels or "origin" stories.
