FUNimation Dragon Box Z #1 (In-Hands) Discussion

Oh, man, so I'm not the only one with the paper peeling off the top/bottom of their box?
Mine is just a small minor corner on the top....some spray photo mount (what SSJ2 Dark was saying) or something like that'll probably fix it. Obviously as an art major I should know how to mount paper without hurting it. >_>
(heck, a glue stick would probably work, just I don't have one...XD...)

Yeah, I had to glue stick my damn paper back to the box too. In fact, hearing about these potential issues is what got me off my ass and back here again.
I'm almost scared to take out the discs now in case they crack/snap/vaporise on me. Overall though, I'm loving it. I'll be grabbing lots of Yam-man screenshots for sure.

Just as a point of reference, I had ordered another box set (Six Feet Under: The Complete Series) from Amazon a few days before I got my DragonBox Slim from Best Buy. I got it and it had been damaged in transit. Upon contacting Amazon, they rushed me a new set at no charge, next day delivery. They sent me a shipping label and asked me to return the damaged box, which I did, and all was well.Chuquita wrote:Eek. O_O;;
I can't decide if it'd be worse to have to deal with that or the smushed dent one of the corners of my Dbox has.
It kind of turns me off from wanting to order anything else from Amazon in the future; which is a shame because I was so excited to order the DBox online for 30% off.
Maybe shoot them an email. They tend to be excellent on the customer service end.

I just filled out the info for a replacement. I was hesitant when the message detailing their problems was up, because I didn't want to mess with getting a refund and then spending more money at a brick and mortar store. So.. YAY! Now I get a pristine Dragonbox.
Edit:
I just got the confirmation e-mail. Can someone explain to me how 1-day shipping sent out tonight equals arrival on Monday? I could understand Saturday, especially considering I placed my original order yesterday and got it today but Monday...? Oh well, it is free and I have the discs from the damaged one to play with until I send them back on Monday.

They happen at random. But it will occur sometime in the next few months.email2003 wrote:When will that be? Or, will there be one?Raki wrote:I won't until the next RS Funi sale.Jon Jon wrote:So did anyone else already put in a pre-order for the next dbox at rightstuf? I know I did..lol
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Maybe some double-sided Scotch tape would work well, perhaps?RogueA007 wrote:Oh, man, so I'm not the only one with the paper peeling off the top/bottom of their box?

They tend to use couriers to deliver one-day packages, so perhaps that courier isn't open on Saturday. In any case, here's hoping you get your replacement in good shape.Freeza Heika wrote:Edit:

I cant wait for my Dragonbox to arrive. I do not really care about the packaging, but if it does start to tear I will probably fix it like everyone else. I have almost all the edited versions of DBZ, so this will be my first adventure into the uncut English version.
I know Japanese is the main language, so even before starting to watch the Uncut DBZ, I will be changing it to the English language with the Japanese Soundtrack. I pre-ordered mine from amazon and it should get here after thanksgiving.

Packaging issues weren't Amazon's fault. Well, unless you mean like, the disc holders getting destroyed in shipping. The peeling label thing is just us lucky ones. Some from Amazon some from Right Stuf.
Mine was from Right Stuf. I still have yet to care enough to actually try the dub track for syncing issues.

I was wondering if anyone else was having issues with the synopsis at the back of the box peeling off? To be honest, I cannot decide whether this is even an issue or not in that the paper is only held onto the box by 2 blobs of glue in the middle, and underneath the paper the design from the rest of the box carries on around. It makes it look to me like the paper was never designed to stay on there permanently anyway. Has anyone ripped this off or just left it there? Or are most other people's firmly attached to the rest of the box?
It's not. it's clearly just a promo and there is box art on the back. They are clever in doing this, since the UPC is also on this as well (who wants a UPC ruining the box art? ;D). You can also tell because there's just two glops of glue holding it on.b_boult wrote:I was wondering if anyone else was having issues with the synopsis at the back of the box peeling off? My bottom was peeling, nothing else. Nothing but a little squirt of super glue to fix a minor issue.b_boult wrote:I was wondering if anyone else was having issues with the synopsis at the back of the box peeling off? I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

Considering how much raving has been going on compared to how many people actually said their packaging was messed up, I think it's safe to buy. My packaging was fine.LeprikanGT wrote:So.....should I buy this Dbox from like Bestbuy? I planned on getting it there btu with all these people talking about syncing mistakes and cracked packaging....I'm not so sure right now.
As for syncing, if you're watching the dub then I guess you might not want it. If you're watching it in Japanese then you're fine.
