I like the opening a lot. I am happy, that after the (for me) horrible cover of Chala Head Chala and image sing in BOG and after the horrible ending song in Ressurection F, we have oldschool shonen opening by a mature sounding singer, that is nowhere near Kageyama for me, but that upbeat opening is something I have missed since the first 3 openings of the Dragon Ball series.

This is the company that's telling people that Super's 5th episode looks good and anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about, like Nintendo telling gamers they don't need 3rd party support.

The Multiverse Tournament should take place after the end of the series... Where the characters are more powerful than they are now, and it could present possibilities that aren't possibilites by now, as giving Uub a proper role, for example.

There will be 1 space vacant because of Monaka. Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Buu are almost certainties to be included, so it could be Uub if it is set after the end of Z.

Is buu really a certainty? By then Goten and trunks should be stronger than him. Even if they aren't super interested in training it's been shown that Vegeta trains trunks and Goku trains Goten at EOZ So I'd rather have one of them or Gohan take Buu's place.

It's a Japanese thing I am rather for the old in case of anime, as I can't imagine more bad pop songs every 15 episodes, perverse fanservice (we already get lot of Bulma's cleavage but it's still standard Dragon Ball),
squeaky female characters and such.
Last time, TOEI hired a character designer for Saint Seiya Omega, who did magical girl series' before and Saint Seiya was even plot-wise more like Sailor Moon/Pokémon/Sentai show and it pretty much bombed.
No one goes for the merchandise.
At least Dragon Ball retained it's characteristic design, that doesn't look like other 40+ anime shows.

Among DB's characteristics are great fights, an epic connected story, funny comedy, great character designs and a well utilized cast of characters.

Does Super retain any of that ? it has it's moments but those are the exception rather than the norm.

He works for Toei and on the franchise so there was no excuse for him to say anything other then "The people working on it didn't have enough time to finish it up but we're doing our best to prevent it from happening again"

But no, he thinks they did a good job and everyone is making a big deal out of nothing which shows just how cut off they are from the rest of the industry.

I am just going by how it is now in the show, the training bit is what is holding Goten and Trunks back. I think the tournament will be before the end of Z but we will have a few arcs to go before we reach it.

Gohan is probably not training simply because Piccolo is not with him and Gohan is supposed to be training off him.

And they don't, so what's your point? The 3DS outsells every other gaming system in Japan, clearly they're doing something right.

If these are anime original episodes, I wonder if Toei is planning on improving their schedule by not putting that much effort in animating them.

Wow, really?! I feel like Toriyama regretted making the half breeds so strong in comparison to Goku so he decided to nerf the hell out of them by making them not train. At least Gohan never enjoyed fighting that much, but Goten and Trunks really should have gotten the chance to realize their potentials.

Regarding the opening, I think we could see it changing in the one year mark. The ending is constantly replaced, so they clearly aren't going for a classic presentation there. One Piece doesn't even have ending sequences anymore, so it's clearly a different case.

The 3ds does have third party support in Japan though, which is not coincidentally the only territory where it's the number 1 system overall (not just number 1 portable).

To be fair, Chōzetsu Dynamic isn't quite as fun or catchy as CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA.

I wouldn't say so either but I feel that it could've been a lot worse.

Anyways, have we gotten that new info on Super yet? I'm pretty sure it's Goku day in Japan right now, so I figured something would've been announced by now

It's only around 4:00 AM at Japan right now, I'm expecting the "new development" to be announced at around 9 AM.

Hopefully we'll get more than small tidbits.

Hopefully we'll get a full description for the next arc and maybe a poster with a Toriyama comment on it.
