I'm aware of that, my doubt is if Buu can actually be killed without having to resort to a Genki Dama (which is a technique Gohan never learned).

Why wouldn't a big and concentrated Kamehameha be able to do the trick? I'm pretty sure Gohan had to be thinking something similar when he was fighting Super Boo.

SSJ3 Gotenks somewhat did that, yet Buu managed to regenerate from molecules around him. Unlike Cell, destroying every single cell of his body isn't enough, Buu can regenerate from nothing, he's literally immortal. I think Goku only managed to destroy Buu thanks to the positive life energy from the Genki Dama which countered and neutralized Kid Buu's pure raw evil energy.

There's also the fact that the preliminary rounds were determined by a punching machine instead of the participants fighting their way through them, there's a junior division, and it's apparently publicized unlike previous ones.

Buu never regenerated from nothing. The place was covered in Buu-smoke.

The previous Budokais had people shooting laser beams out of their hands, jumping a hundred feat in the air, and an old guy blowing up the moon. The 24th Budokai was a basic tournament. None of the superhumans showed up, otherwise Mr. Satan wouldn't have one.

The Announcer also saw people moving faster than the human eye can see, jump hundreds of feet in the air, grow 4 arms, and destroy the tournament wall with singular attacks. Mr. Satan can't do none of that stuff.

Punching machines are used in real-life fighting events to prevent there being a strength difference that's too great in case of injuries same with Junior Division.

That's the thing. Toriyama only stated He's strong by normal human standards. Goku was already borderline superhuman at the beginning of the series.

He also stated he's weaker than Bob Sapp... a real-life human fighter.

Goku gets practically stomped by Cell and then Cell can't even land a hit on Gohan. Cell resorts to using his full speed and he still can't even make Gohan's Ki drop at all. So CG Goku wouldn't be able to land a hit on Gohan or even make his Ki drop (not without a SIKHH at least). The title of the chapter is also "The one who surpasses Goku", so I doubt that's supposed to be taken as the gap being very small.

I think Raditz gets Yamcha'd. The guy got full-nelson'd TWICE by weaker opponents. He will likely underestimate the saibaman, pass him for dead after knocking him down, and then get kamikaze'd when he turns his back.
