Pretty sure she's stated to be 4 in the epilogue? Which just means her birthday isn't before May 7th (the Tenka'ichi Budokai date).

Yeah, the tournament announcer says she's 4. So going off her birth year, she's technically "4, going on 5".

Just to add to this a bit, the date of Age 778 for BoG comes from the updated Chouzenshuu 4 timeline. Well, technically I believe that date first appeared in the timeline display that was part of the museum exhibit on DB and Toriyama's artwork they had back in 2013.

The new movie is probably around the time the Trunks TV special is set. Maybe Trunks will look a little older along with Goten.

Interesting...I guess the size of Trunks and Goten in BoG makes sense then (or at least, is consistent with some past material). It'd be great to see Trunks grow a bit - ala young Trunks in the special and Cell Games Gohan. Maybe in the next movie then, assuming it takes place in Age 780 or so.

On an unrelated note, I have to say that Monica Rial has gotten worse as Bulma. Most of the rest of the cast improved, though.

I thought she did a fine job. What about her performance didn't you like? How has she gotten worse?

She now sounds too silly, over-the-top, and obnoxious. I thought she was great before the Cell saga.

Absolutely this: Monica Rial's Bulma is sounding a lot worse lately- still much better than Sean Schemmel's King Kai, but that's not saying much.

The rest of the cast was excellent, though: Chris Sabat shined as Vegeta as did Sean Schemmel as Goku here.

It's not just the film so much as how she's sounding so...angry all the time nowadays. The delivery is off nowadays, too: I actually liked Rial's Bulma a lot in Saiyan and Namek Kai but since Cell something's been...off.

Has anyone rewatched this movie lately? How many times have you guys seen it?

I happen to be rewatching it right now, and I swear it seems to get better and better every time I watch it. This is a bit of a strange position for me to be in, considering I was slightly disappointed with it when it came out initially. Something about it just has this enduring charm, there's almost a timeless quality to it. While it's certainly not perfect, there are so many great elements that this movie manages go pull in. They don't always flow naturally together, but it's nice to have a good mix of comedic, sentimental and dramatic scenes. I think a lot of the initial disappointment came from unrealistic expectations, but now that I'm over those I feel like I'm really starting to appreciate the film for what it is.

On a side note, I actually prefer the theatrical version. I just don't think this scenario justifies a 110 minute run-time.

Looks like Revival of F's job just got a little bit harder.

I love the extended version because it makes the movie seem less...cut. It flows more naturally and doesn't rush as much. Besides, i love the Oolong scene

I've been meaning to give the movie a re-watch (perhaps finally watching the Extended version in Japanese?) here soon, but I haven't quite gotten around to it yet, what with all the other stuff I need to get to watching. Maybe I'll make it a point to do so if I can make an article of sorts out of it.

I think a lot of the initial disappointment came from unrealistic expectations, but now that I'm over those I feel like I'm really starting to appreciate the film for what it is.

Personally, it exceeded my expectations the moment I first saw it. The way it manages to take a lot of DBZ conventions only to turn them on their heads is just brilliant, and the tonal and thematic elements all come together really well. The extended version is even better, I think.

Definitely timeless in my opinion.

I liked it a lot the first time I watched it. Didn't expect anything.

Funnily enough, I just watched this again last week, makes it 5 times theatrical (4 times Japanese, 1 time English) and 3 times extended (all English). Ever since ManagUK released it here in BD I have not touched the theatrical cut once lol, love the extended cut I agree with Vegitofaxx especially about that the Oolong scene Speaking of MangaUK, seems the Collectors Edition is completely out of print, my friend could not find a copy anywhere, wish I ordered a few more copies when it came out now ahha.
