Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Even Cooler knows Salza is about to get slaughtered.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
What an idiot.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The funny thing is, this happened in the original Cooler movie, too - the entire Armored Squadron attacked Goku even though they knew he'd killed Freeza.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Not exactly. It's only dumb if Salza assumed this Namek somehow defeated 100% Freeza, rather than 1st form Freeza, the form he was always in.FoolsGil wrote:What an idiot.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I'm digging this drawing style. Most of these "alternate" or "special" chapters are different art-wise (with respect to the Toriyama-style), and I think this is one of the better ones (mostly due to the skill involved).
My only complaint is that Coola and Sauza are too skinny...they need more mass. It's similar to the current DB paradigm where the SSJ God looks...emaciated. Other than that, if they don't make it too political, there aren't any flaws worth stating.
Also, I can't wait to see Vegeta in this art style...I assume he and Cui are still alive and are still taking orders from Gast.

In that last pane (the one right before Gast tears off his blade arm...I'm sure he'll do that), he looks like the Joker for sure. Mostly because of that wide grin, pointy facial features, and slender build.goku the krump dancer wrote:Lmao y'all comments are killing me....

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I'm surprised no one's bashing the art for being too realistic. I thought everyone would complain about it like the Bojack special,
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The Bojack special's art was objectively bad, not just a different style. This is well drawn, the style is just severely different from Dragon Ball's.

It also may have been a while since I've looked at that chapter, but I'm not sure I'd call the Bojack special's art...'realistic'.

This art is millions of times better than the art from the bojack special.Son Edo wrote:I'm surprised no one's bashing the art for being too realistic. I thought everyone would complain about it like the Bojack special,

Gast does not fuck around
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Well that was fast and the next target will be Cold huh.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Wow, was not expecting that at all!
I know I've said this before, but goddamn! I love the art here!

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I guess this establishes Gast as an anti-hero. Technically, he had no reason to kill Cooler or even know he was as bad as Freeza for that matter. I guess Vegeta and Cui could have filled him in, though.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I have to wonder if this is over already or not. Multiverse has a bad habit of dragging out the inevitable, but Freeza also survived being cut into less than half of his former self. Hmm...
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The one special that had really bad art was the one where Future Trunks finds 16 and decides to rebuild him. It was all poorly done tracing. The Bojack special was done well - if one happens to like the "psycho" art style that Berrizo employs. I challenge anyone to find real flaws there (instead of conscious artistic choices - the so riddiculed Piccolo on page 382 is actually done very properly, with good anatomy and so on - but, to quote you - "the style is just severely different from Dragon Ball's").Puto wrote:The Bojack special's art was objectively bad, not just a different style.
