He also surpassed him in bog does that count?HeroR wrote:Within in Z, he may have surpassed him at the beginning of the arc since even Piccolo said he 'may' be more powerful than Goku. That was a temporary rage boost. But I will say for the sake of argument, it counts. I will even thrown in that Vegeta may have surpassed Goku in Resurrection 'F', given that Goku thinks he could have, although Vegeta never confirmed it.Supersaiyanbulla wrote: He also surpassed him in bog does that count?

As for Jiren, manga does a better job hands down..

I know but the manga stayed more true to Goku holding back.Lord Beerus wrote:Goku did fight #17 as a SSJ initially to test how strong #17 was. Rather than with the anime, him going Blue, which doesn't seem like something Goku would do.HeroR wrote:
How is Goku holding back god made a character moment? He used Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan against 17 as a test, so he wasn’t holding back to save stamina.
The anime doesn’t focused Goku and Vegeta rival since Goku has a rivalry with Hit, while manga Hit and Goku don’t really have a realionship. And when was Vegeta Goku’s cheerleader in the anime?
That line is shown in the manga more tho. Goku didn't reveal his trump card to a unknown like he did in the anime.HeroR wrote:Miracles wrote: Vegeta is always stating how he will surpass Goku in the anime and NEVER even close. Vegeta in the anime isn't always stating he will surpassed Goku, he only really specifically said that in Episode 2 and 93. Everywhere else, he said he will surpassed the gods. And even in the original manga, Vegeta had a one-sided rivalry with Goku since he was always behind except for two times.
Goku went Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan against 17 because he was specifically test 17, while in the manga, 17 and Goku got into accidental fight. And it was noted that even in Blue, Goku was holding back, so he's perfectly within character. And the "bad habit of holding back" line is only one the anime ironically enough, not the manga.
Add in Vegeta snarling at Goku when he used KK Blue against Hit. Vegeta spouting he will surpass Goku one time or a dozen doesn't matter. We all know that is his lifelong goal.

Except in the anime Goku fought with 17 against the poachers and talked to 17 directly before challenging him. Vegeta was also pissed in the manga for Goku saving stamina using Super Saiyan God.

Toyotaro says happy killmass.https://twitter.com/Herms98/status/944770983445041152

It also seems that toyotaro is drawing the current manga chapter as opposed to what a lot of people thought that he is several chapters ahead or even in next arc.

Based on the end of episode 121 i don't think the anime will write Jiren the way the manga has. I can't image the manga version of Jiren mocking u7 about them never winning a battle again since he was willing to skip out so that he wouldn't cause universes destruction

I think the anime is going for Jiren (and the Pirde Troopers in general) being a deconstruction of a Superhero(s), while the manga is playing it straight.ToshioWrites wrote:Based on the end of episode 121 i don't think the anime will write Jiren the way the manga has. Universe 7 themselves are kinda assholes, too.
