Yeah, or you can let people use whatever version of the name they please, since you'll already know exactly who it is they're referring to.

I use Frieza and Cooler. I like one over the other. I also prefer Vegetto over Vegito and Jeice over Jheese. We all know who these characters are by now.

Jaws pronounces "Freeza" correctly, but pronounces "FRiEZA" as "Free-eeza", if that makes any difference? (Well, the way I had to get past the filter comes out as "Eff-Righ-Eeeza", but nya.)
Though admitedly, "Free-eeza" sounds cooler than "Frigh-za", which may have something to do with my not caring too much. Ur... presently. XD

[edit] O.O on the subject of Jaws, the placement of the "edit" and "reply with quote" buttons is a bit more tedious than anywhere I've encountered. :-/ [/edit]

I've never seen Frieza and thought "Fry-za" for the pronunciation and really don't see how anyone could....

As for the Freeza/Freezer and Coola/Cooler matter.... Freezer sounds like Bobby Drake's 2nd cousin and Coola is the newest soft drink craze. Thus I use Freeza and Cooler.

<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

Both Freeza and Freezer are acceptable but I personally use Freeza. As for Frieza (with an "i" before the "e"), I guess it is acceptable but it just depends on the way you pronounce it, much like Saiyan.

Here, Mike sums it up pretty well. Plus, "F-r-i-e-z-a" isn't pronounced "Freeza." Just like "Saiyan" isn't pronounced "Seiyan." :P
And "bough" isn't pronounced "bow".

Wait...

If it doesn't matter why hit ALT+0173 to put an invisible character inside of the name Frieza?

He wasn't jealous of Freeza.

Cooler was of the mind that his brother was foolish or that he had much to learn.

I'm basing it off the subs, but feel free to assume what you want. If I based it off the dub, I would've said he would've intended to kill him.
I know on some of FUNi's older releases they had two subtitle tracks. One real subtitle track and a dubtitle track. Why they thought the deaf needed to read some crappy translations are beyond me. But either way, if you're watching the original single release with the subs, just be sure you're on the right one. Easy mistake. I've done it while ripping DVD's only to find I only ripped the dubtitles track

Subtitles are for more than just the deaf.

And it's for the same reason they think the viewers with perfect hearing wanted to hear crappy lines(you can't really call it a translation when they completely changed a good portion of it).

Um, I was reading it off of the subtitles from the Double Feature...WHICH DOESN'T HAVE DUBTITLES.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Sorry jjpg, just bringing it up.

Anyhow, here's what I've got from the subs on the Double Feature release from two scenes. The first is from Coola and his men observing the destruction of Planet Vegeta:
However, even though it's a baby, for him to let even one Saiyan go...

The plan to exterminate the Saiyans and take control of this district being delayed is all due to Freeza's arrogant conceit!

Freeza is still much, much too soft.
And here from his throne on some destroyed planet:
What?! Freeza, who carries our glorious bloodline, was killed by a low-life Saiyan!?

Freeza, you damned fool!

I always knew you were soft, but to be beaten by a mere monkey?
Though there are exclamation points in some of the lines, Coola's tone is completely calm the entire time. At no point is he angry or enraged when speaking about Freeza or how he runs things.

He doesn't seem happy that Freeza was done in by his own ignorance (Which if you hated them, wouldn't you be happy?), but more just dishonored by the fact that a Saiyan was able to overtake one of his own blood.

Hmmm...I think it's hard to tell exactly how Coola feels about all this, but I certainly don't think he's angry at Freeza or upset with his own situation, he actually takes great pride in his accomplishments and doesn't feel threatened by Freeza at all.
