Too bad that won't be in Kai either.

This one's just the most notorious. There are numerous filler episodes, but besides the ones taking part during the major time skips, nobody remembers them as much because they aren't 100% standalones. As for filler arcs, there's also the Afterlife Tournament, which is MUCH better than the Garlic Jr saga. I'm very glad it won't be presented in Kai, not just because it's filler and doesn't belong, but because it sucked.Kai_fan wrote:The only positive thing I can say about this saga is that it's technically the best sort of filler.
Better to simply create a whole new story arc than to badly pace/stretch out canon material in order to fill time. That way you as a viewer can simply watch or skip the extra stuff at your leisure, and if you just want to watch the meat it won't take forever.
If you ask me, there actually should have been MORE filler arcs. I'm surprised they only did this one...

True, but the beginning of the Buu arc also had a tournament.Puto wrote:The Anoyo'ichi Budôkai is one of the few cases of filler I liked, as it was an awesome throwback to the tournaments of the original DB.
