You're probably right, we most likely will not be seeing another DVD release following Kai; it'll be Blu-ray from then onwards...Ex-Dubbie369 wrote:Really? You can get 42 DBox episodes for about 35 bucks now and that's overpriced?Dayspring wrote:I'm just not a big enough fan to deal with countless overpriced rerelease after rerelease.
I get the rerelease thing, but other than Kai, which you may prefer since you said you dislike filler, I really don't think DBZ will be released on DVD again, cause we have the best version now.
Why are you getting the Kai sets?

I'm getting them because Madman isn't releasing the Dragon Box in NZ. I would import them but I'm too poor.

Re: Why are you getting the Kai sets?
Kai isn't particularly a product I want to support financially. As much of a manga nazi as I can be, the lack of filler marketing ploy doesn't appeal to me at all because it's obviously a load of crap. It's just a cheap, half-assed, HD re-edit of DBZ, and nothing more. If they truly cared about offering a faster paced, true-to-Toriyama experience, there's a lot more they could have done (like starting with where the manga actually begins, for one), but Toei obviously didn't want to exert any actual effort.
Having said all that, I am going to buy Kai because I like to write words about Dragon Ball (as you can see in this post!), and it's much easier and better to do so when I own a hard copy of something for reference. So it's purely an obligation thing for me, I guess.

Why am I getting the Kai sets? Two words: good dub.
Re: Why are you getting the Kai sets?
The new dub is the only reason I'm getting this. I don't watch Kai anyway, but a fresh, accurate dub is something I can't wait to see.
