#17 Donating to the Genki-Dama?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

That is rather odd. I think that in one of the Toriyama interviews in the early issues of Viz's Shonen Jump, Toriyama said the reason Lunch didn't appear after the 23rd TB was because he forgot about her. Maybe people conflated that with the Daizenshuu 7 quote?
On related note, what does her bio in the anime/filler portion of her bio call Blonde Lunch (it's a blurb talking about The Sleeping Princess movie)? The French has (...)où, transformée en Lunch "furie," elle tente(...), which would be '(...)where, transformed into "fury" Lunch, she tries(...)' In French, "fury" placed like that is equally awkward a read, so I was wondering if this was some sort of official nickname given to her blonde form.
In Japanese it's kyoubou Ranchi, furious/violent Lunch. It's sort of equivalent to "fury Lunch" grammar-wise; usually for "furious" you'd see kyoubou-na, the na making the noun equivalent to an adjective.

I guess. This really annoys me, though. I get a lot of flak whenever the French version fucked something up, meaning in the same grain as if I said FUNI's version of a filler moment was canon. To be fair, Glénat totally altered certain names in the manga (on par with random changes), while also do have MAJOR mistakes in the Daizenshuu -Goku's mom instead of Chichi's dies, power tubing for the androids' pods makes them evil, HORRIBLY vague word choice in regards to Pan's bio (seriously! I found exactly six different ways to interpret the statement regarding her transformations, all of which are viable French-English translations, while only one is the same as the Japanese version). But it's still leaps and bounds better than most English versions. Plus, the French Daizenshuu came out when random changes in translations were "acceptable" and completely common place in the manga/anime translation domain all over the world (I think before season 3 of FUNi came out).

Neat. Are there instances in the manga or anime when she's refered to as such?

It's another plot hole in the series. Seeing that he was evil then he would never got wish back in the first place. Same with Akkuman.

It's not. They wished everyone killed by Cell back to life, not just everyone good.

My memory is being a bit fuzzy right now but was it ever explained how come King Kai never came back to life then?

I can't really think of any off hand.

I think he's wondering why 17 returned to life after Boo destroyed the Earth. At the time, the wish was to bring everyone back to life "excluding the extremely evil people", so 17 probably just didn't qualify as "extremely evil". In the main timeline, the only person he ever killed was Gero anyway.

Akkuman being shown contributing energy to the Genki-Dama is just filler, but maybe he'd not count as "extremely" evil either.

Goku says that he chose to say dead in order to keep him company. Why he'd need to stay dead to do this when he already lived in the afterlife anyway is never explained.

Yeah but his goal was to kill Goku. Didn't he kill some truck driver as well?

You know, I assume Toriyama didn't care about the details but. Did #18 have a falling out with #17 after she hooked up with our favorite monk?

It's never really hit on as to what happened during the seven years between the end of the Cell storyline and the beginning of the Buu storyline regarding #18 outside of her marrying Kuririn and then Marron's birth. Whether she actually bothered looking for her brother following their resurrection and subsequent bomb removal wish or not is something I don't think was brought up at any point.
