Wasn't there a Legacy of Goku fan game that focused on the Saiyan and Freeza sagas in the works? I remember seeing it on Gamefaqs years and years ago. I remember that they were using the Ocean script for game dialogue because one of the speech boxes had Yamcha calling the Saibamen "little green gumballs". There was going to be 2 on 2 battles as well.

I remember seeing screen shots of that. Nappa was huge, similar to the giant thugs in Buu's Fury.

I thought the first one was pretty bad although I still get some feeling of nostalgia for it just because I played it a lot because at the time it was like the only Dragon Ball game and I didn't have a PS2 yet.

I thought the second one was pretty good. The combat was pretty shallow but still, the rpg element made it addicting and it was a nice and lengthy campaign. The script stayed very true the dub and the game did an admiral job of reproducing the Falconer track which was a huge bonus to me at the time since I was a big dub fan.

I never got around to playing the third which I always intended. Can't now that I no longer have a GBA, my interest has waned too.

Legacy of Goku: Terriblad
Legacy of Goku II: Fantastic
Buu's Fury (Randomly dropping the LoG name, mmkay): Decent
DBGT: Transformation: Terriblad

I'm glad "Webfoot" (whoever the fuck they are. Why did "Infogrames" even hire them anyway? Fail.) is gone.

Wikipedia is your friend. They were the guys that made Taiketsu by the way, thought I might point that out.

The first one I played was Buu's Fury after I got it as a Christmas gift, and I loved it. Then my brother borrowed the two Legacy of Goku games from a friend and I tried to play the first one but gave up before the Raditz fight. The secon one though, that was fun. I never got around to playing GT: Transformations but I always thought it looked neat. What was wrong with it Thanos?

Yeah, I thought it looked neat. On paper, it sounds like a great game if you're curious about playing a GT game. Basically a Final Fight-style beat-'em-up, you can play as Goku, Pan (with Gill) & Uubu, and unlock Piccolo, SSj Vegeta, SSj Goku, SSj4 Goku, and even Bebi Vegeta. It covered the beginning of the series until the end of the Bebi saga.

Each stage is broken up into planets, mirroring the appearance of their respective locations in the anime. They took the soldier-type enemies from the planets and made them enemies (with, of course, palette-swaps for slightly stronger enemies, in classic FF fashion). Although I'm pretty sure the gang didn't fight bees.

The menus are awful, the music is pretty horrible (MIDI-fied versions of the hip-hop soundtrack of the American dub which loop and drone on  ), and the graphics are just pathetic. The backgrounds generally look nice, but I am not exaggerating when I say I could make better looking sprites than most of those found in this game (with the exception of SSj4 Goku and Bebi). Let's not forget about how short the game is. You basically make your way through ridiculously short stages, extended in time only by waves of enemies.

The controls are also quite ridiculous. This format doesn't work so well with the GBA controls.

Eh, GT: Transformation wasn't that bad. For a "beat 'em up" on the Gameboy Advance, it was okay. I didn't really have much problems with the controls myself, though.

Have you ever played any of these games? I'm betting you're assuming they're crap because they're based on things you have no interest in, but many people would view Dragon Ball Z games in that same light.

The single biggest problem with GT Transformation is the ridiculous amount of grinding you had to go through to unlock things. It could easily take three runthroughs of the story to be able to afford one character, and then all you can do with them is go through the same levels you've already been through.

That, and the game is just poorly designed from a graphic stand point.
The whole thing is just a mess. While games such as Advance Adventure and Super Sonic Warriors have a certain charm/style, Transformations just looked like it was all whipped out in paint in about an hour.

Those all sound like legitimate complaints except I remember an episode where they were on a planet with giant bees, I think at the beginning when they were looking for the black star balls. It's been a while since I've watched the show though...

I just played Hello Kitty Party Pals and I THOUGHT it felt exactly like a Legacy of Goku game. Guys, it's really fun... n-no seriously it is. I played it for like 2 hours. S-shut up it's actually pretty impressive if not a tad redundant.

On the topic of Transformations, man I hated that game. The controls were incredibly stiff. Play Advanced Adventures and Transformations back to back and you'll see how slow and rigid the latter plays. Also as Thanos mentioned the music was one of the absolute worst aspects.

Yeah that's episode 6, set on the planet of giants, Mommath (haha, get it?). Can't remember if Goku and co. actually fought the giant bees, but they were there. They mistook Pan for their queen somehow.

No, they didn't fight them. I know there were giant bees in that episode, but I am also aware that they did not fight them.

Fair enough, though I must remind you... those kiddie games they've made in the past weren't exactly franchises that dealt with fighting/RPG elements. My point wasn't the games themselves, but the fact that they were kid's games that likely have no depth (a safe assumption because they are kids games). Then there's Texas Hold 'Em, and... yeah, any developer in their right mind wouldn't hire a company with a track record of developing kid's games and a Texas Hold 'Em game.

I won't bother talking about Legacy Of Goku because everything's that to be said about it has been said. I have cited it as one of the worst videogames I've ever played. Also, is it really a Legend Of Zelda rip-off, as I've heard many people accuse it of being?
I haven't played Buu's Fury, so I can't talk about that either.

Legacy Of Goku II was a clear improvement over the first installment in every way. Graphics, battle system, side-quests, etc. While it was a decent game, the battle system was incredibly shallow, offering very little variety, and there really is no replayability factor in the game at all.

Actually most people(that I know anyway) compare them to the Madden games. "Not another one! Can they at least making something worth paying $60 for? I'm sick of minor tweaks and roster updates."

Those games listed are nothing more than shovelware that take up 80% of the DS wall at Gamestop. They make me embarrassed to say I own a DS and that I am a fan of Nintendo.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

I wish they would combine LoG 2 and/or 3 and fuse it with Sagas and RB. Thats something great from all 3 types of DBZ games.

The first Legacy of Goku game I got was Legacy of Goku II. I loved it. (The Jinzonengen arc is my favorite arc) It's not too simple, not too hard, I like the customizing aspect.

It's a portable version of my dream Dragonball game - what Sagas should have been.

Then I got Buu's Fury (AKA Legacy of Goku III) and liked that too. I played through Legacy of Goku II twice, I loved it so much. I loved that they slipped in Movie elements into the two games, made it feel a little more complete.
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

Legacy of Goku II will always remain one of my favorite games of all time; it was really that good, if you ask me.

The first LoG was meh... the beginning of it was horrible, though it got better by the time you were making it through Snake Way.

Buu's Fury had some interesting what-ifs and finding the Dragon Balls was pretty fun, not to mention the new transformations and fusions that were introduced. Its only major flaw was, as stated before, its easy difficulty.

Transformation was also, in my opinion, a great little beat-'em-up. Sure, it had its flaws, but it was still really fun to play through (although it was pretty short... there was still some replay value to it). I actually thought the game's graphics were of pretty high quality.

Still sad to see that Transformation never got that damn sequel. :(
