Since he was saying that it
was decent in accuracy, I assume you meant to point that one at me. It's not...
terrible, but the dialogue was definitely "spiced up", with things like Bulma's rant on tolerance, and then there was that large change with Hirudegarn, which really made it inconsistent with itself since they had it correct earlier in the script.
I'd probably put it around movie 5's dub in terms of accuracy. Maybe just a tad below due to the inconsistency itself, which bothered me back even when I had seen the dub first.

No, it was directed at him. He was saying it was the most accurate of FUNi's Movie Dubs. I meant that while it WAS decent in accuracy. It was not the best.

Ah, just the way it was worded made me think you were responding to a claim that it was "the worst", because you had the "Definitely not the worst" at the end which confused me. I'm guessing you meant to type "best" as opposed to "worst", which changes the meaning of the post.
Good that we agree on it though.

Actually, from what I"m reading. It looks like the majority thinks that the TV specials need redubbings the
most.

I never saw DB movie 2, but DB movie 3 could use it, especially with Delgadillo's little Goku and the way they handle Arale and the Gatchans. They were done much better in the RRA arc. Z movies don't need to be changed in my view. While I only have movie 4 on video, Armstrong's voice for Slug made him better in my view. As for talk on accuracy, if they redid movie 7 and took out the fish jumping line, it'd be dead to me.

Meh, it's been awhile since I've watched those dubs. Movie #8, while fairly accurate, had a lot of poor deliveries in it. Maybe that's part of why #13 felt a little "better" to me. *shrugs*
I welcome Kai-level English dubbing with appropriate character voices for all the movies never the less.

I'm actually more interested if we'll get a dub for Plan To Eradicate The (Super) Saiyans with Raging Blast, that'd be something to see with this new cast.

In regards to the original post, when I first read the title, I admit I was quite confused, as I thought you were talking about in Japan. And since I consider the Kai treatment to be more about trimming the fat, it didn't really make any sense to me. But now I get what you're talking about, and a redub certainly does have some merit to it. Not necessarily a "Kai"ification, but a redub might be in order... not that I'd watch it except maybe in bits and pieces.
What did get my attention, though, was how you seem to be worried that kids would be extremely confused or bewildered by hearing voice casts or production values that weren't entirely consistent. I doubt that would be the case. As a kid, I watched long-running cartoons all the time, like The Flintstones or Scooby-Doo, which all varied wildly in terms of voice casts, current trends, the age of returning voice actors, animation quality, etc., and it never phased me. I always understood that they were products of their time, and I can't see any other children flipping off the televisions or chucking out their DVDs just because someone's voice is different in one incarnation from another.

Yeah, but I seriously don't think FUNimation will bother with them as they've been released three times already.
