New series after Kai?
Re: New series after Kai?
As long as it keeps the same cast of characters I'd be cool with it. I don't care about Goku's great-great-great-great grandchildren.
Maybe a series in the same humorous vein as the Jump Special? One that takes place around the same time period? I really liked everyone in that.

Re: New series after Kai?
I doubt it, I just see Kai as part of this 20th anniversary celebration of Z and not an attempt to 'revive' the series. If we were ever to get a new story I'd much rather have it be a comic by Akira Toriyama or Ooishi Naho, which would just turn into an animated series anyway.
Yeah, I agree something like this or what Zephyr said would be nice. I personally wouldn't mind a new cast especially if it were to be based on the events of Dragon Ball Online since we would still see the original cast once in awhile, including deceased villains.Chuquita wrote:As long as it keeps the same cast of characters I'd be cool with it. I would have mixed feelings about it, but I definitely wouldn't mind.

I would personally want a new series, but you have to think about how the fans would react to it. Just look at GT.

Re: New series after Kai?
I want Dragonball (non-Z) Kai. It is a shame the early part of the story, which is arguably the best, is always left in the shadows.
Re: New series after Kai?
Goku fighting those two ?!!!.....hmmm well then you can't possibly expect it to go down like the 1st time. Goku would probably fight them like with Cooler. And then it ends with an assist by Vegeta.Zephyr wrote:I wouldn't mind some new specials every now and then. Maybe some that delve into DB's backstory. The original Majin Buu conflict? Kami's childhood, conflict with Garlic Sr., and subsequent ascension to the throne of Guardian?
I'd also enjoy some shorts, like Goku's fight against Mecha Freeza and King Cold in the original timeline.
But not like the 1st time.....no way. Goku isn't nearly B.A. enough.

I would take an anime adaption of Dragonball Multiverse. Imagine Vegetto vs Broly in Kai animation O_O.

Re: New series after Kai?
No offense, but I'd hate that idea. I mean I've spent half of my life obsessing over Dragon Ball and collecting so many things. I've been hunting for games (the Japanese games), shelling out a fortune on different versions of the series, countless hours discussing it. And I'd be generally okay with talking about it and watching it from time to time, but after a while it becomes like a prison. When is it ever going to end? Things just keep coming out and there's no end in sight! When you think it's finally over, it just keeps going. I would hate a new series. It was on, I loved it, it ended, and now we can have the aftermath. But now we have Kai, which I guess isn't too bad, but when you're introducing a new series altogether, that would just make me lose my mind. More of the series to study and debate over, and all that. I personally do not want to be caught in a prison of Dragon Ball just because I loved it as a kid and wanted to own it.

Overreacting much? You can always sell all your stuff and focus on something else.TheGreatness25 wrote:No offense, but I'd hate that idea. I would love to see a new series, and would definitely buy the DVDs. I love those ideas of short back-stories, I have some ideas myself.
First, the struggle between "Elder" Kaioshin and the villain who imprisoned him in the Z-Sword.
Then Bibidi vs the Kaioshins. The why's and the how's.
Then I would love to see a final version of "Bardock's special" in the sense that it would have that King Vegeta half episode, the Broly and Paragus back story, showing Tarble being sent away, the murder of Dr. Raichi and maybe even the creation of Baby. Although just Bardock+King Vegeta combo would blow my mind.
Then Piccolo, the disaster on Namek, Katatsu sending him to Earth, growing up, climbing Karin tower and training with Karin, going up and training with Kami, fighting against Garlic (who would be retconned as Dabra's minion who was sent in reconnaissance but defected), the separation of Kami and Daimao and finishing with Daimao vs Mutaito and his students.
Then you could still have Goku training Uub and finding Z, training them both, keeping with the Kame school tradition of 2 students. It would then spin off to Z fighting Onio and Kuriza.
Re: New series after Kai?
For an ongoing series, I'd want "Dragonball: DBO," meaning something based on Dragonball Online's storyline. If not, then a yearly movie would be nice, even if only Jump Festas. If neither, then pre-Gohan Kai.

Re: New series after Kai?
I hope after Kai they don't make a new series, OVA or movie. It basically would be just one more Dragon Ball thing to remember.
Re: New series after Kai?
I honestly think Kai would make more sense starting from the beginning and being one big series from Pilaf to Buu. Or at the very least start with the 23rd Budokai when everyone reaches adulthood. I sure hope they finish with Kazenban's new ending, or I'm gonna be very pissed off.
Re: New series after Kai?
I would rather have had them remake Z with new animation. As in the way Yo Son Goku and Friends Return! looked. But that ship has sailed.
I guess I don't see how a new DB series after this is likely. When did GT end in Japan, 1996 or 1997? That was 13+ years ago. I suppose a movie might be possible but an entire new series? What would they even do? Scrap GT? Okay that would be nice. I'm in.

Oh I doubt Goku would have had a very hard time at all. In case he did though, he would have had a lot more backup than simply Vegeta.Ahiru77 wrote:Goku fighting those two ?!!!.....hmmm well then you can't possibly expect it to go down like the 1st time. With Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, and Chaotzu there to help out (in whatever pathetic way any of them could have actually helped out against people like Freeza and Cold), it would have the potential to be one of the greater battles in DB history.

I'm the only one who does not want to see any new Transformations, and stuff like that? A SSj5 would be cool, but I rather see a real SSj4 then the Transformation that we have got in GT.Choice195 wrote:Dragonball AL (After-Life)
Goku is gone in another planet far from the Supreme Kais planet, Gokus successors Gohan and Goten are watching over the earth along with Uub, Trunks, Piccolo, and Vegeta.
New Transformations = Super Saiyan 5, 6, LSS3, and Ultra Namek.
New Characters = Legendary Super Saiyan (Not Broly), and a Character similar to Freeza and Cooler.

Although I would enjoy that battle, I doubt Goku would have any problems at all... I mean, he had already defeated Freeza easily and he had been training for a whole year, I doubt Freeza was much stronger than he originally was, possibly weaker even.Zephyr wrote:Oh I doubt Goku would have had a very hard time at all. Re: New series after Kai?
I would like a series or set of OVAs that went in depth on the backgrounds of secondary characters like Tienshinhan and Choatzu, Yamcha, and Krillin before they all met Goku. A series about Goten and Trunks would be interesting too
Re: New series after Kai?
Speak for yourself, I enjoyed GT, it has it's flaws... major flaws, but it is enjoyable. Black Dragon Ball Arc was good but went boring really fast; Baby Arc is amazing but could be better; #17 Arc, I like the character, the whole arc is silly; Shadow Dragon Arc is amazing as well, the whole idea of Dragon Balls as enemies is genius.Choice195 wrote:I dont like GT like everyone else, but the SSJ4 transformation was pretty kick-ass.
Overall I would love to see GT redone.
Yeah but... really? I can't see Yamcha or Krilin living interesting lives before meeting Goku, and honestly, apart from training constantly and being angsty, I don't see Tenshinhan and Chaozu being much more interesting...jaywonder wrote:I would like a series or set of OVAs that went in depth on the backgrounds of secondary characters like Tenshinhan and Choatzu, Yamcha, and Krillin before they all met Goku. Trunks had no problem beating them, and Goku was much stronger than him. He could've sneezed them to death.Zephyr wrote:Oh I doubt Goku would have had a very hard time at all.
