Apparently, but it makes no sense if you think about it. Where did that Cell come from? I'm happier writing it off as a mistake, personally.

Cell came from another future. If you follow that Daizenshuu entry, there is a 5th timeline which the other Cell come from, and a 6th of the Trunks this Cell killed traveled to the past...

Then where did that future come from? And how did this extra Cell end up in that particular timeline instead of spawning his own like the one we know did?

Actually it's what it is...

But I find it hard that Cell could be Perfect then... With the blueprints they surely have deactivated the Androids, so he would take 20 years to become Perfect by natural evolution...

So the whole "Trunks goes-then returns-he's killed-Cell goes" actually reapeats itself a more than once...

Weird...
