Yes they did. For some reason, it was changed to a piece of publicly-available stock library music...at least this is what fellow Daizex poster Timo has said about it. According to him, it was used in two different places before: a Chevy commercial, and a porno.
WOW! Porno music in Dragon Ball? That's too much!
And during such a pivotal scene, too...
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Well, not actually a porno, but a TV-spot for a sex hotline.

It sounds like some 80's beach resort commercial. And it doesn't fit at all, although I have to admit that I dig the tune.

Ah, okay. I'm sorry for misquoting you.

They did a really good job picking clips and editing it, though. Usually when you make a new intro only using clips from the show itself, it pales in comparison to the higher quality intro animation... but this is really darn good. I guess they were lucky there's 90 million scenes of people standing around staring with the wind blowing their hair in DBZ...

Song feels Dragonballish enough, too. I say that not knowing a word of what they're saying. ;)

I kind of liked the Ocean portion of FUNimation's replacement music. I certainly prefer the original, sure, but it didn't actually sound that out of place. Somewhat theatrical and worth taking seriously, unlike the Faulconer score: "GRRRR MANLY SUPER ACTION HERO GUITARS AND SHIT!!! YEAH!!!"

I will say this, though. The Faulconer score really sucks up until the Buu era. I don't like it for use in DBZ, but some of the tracks used for that part of the show were actually worth listening to on their own merit.

Like, for some reason, this one has been on my mind as of late:

So good... so catchy... but so not Dragon Ball Z.
I was Thanos before the MCU existed!

From Private to Blocked, great. Maybe I could just use some proxy and see what this is.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
