Big difference. The Graphic Novels are WORTH IT BEYOND WORDS CAN EXPLAIN.

Hey! Gallagtor stole my avatar!
Oh well, I guess I was overdue to change it sooner or later.
But that's off the subject. Anyhow, as has been said many times before, and not only by me, the ending of the Saiyan saga is most certainly one of the greatest scenes in all of DB. I just love how the music is so calm, yet the scene so intense.

BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.
Don't worry about it. I've changed mine once and for all. I've been having avatar issues ever since I came here.kenisu3000 wrote:Hey! Gallagtor stole my avatar!

You're right, the Saiyan saga has lots of great BGM. I really like the piece that place right before Nappa kills Piccolo. You know, the vocal one that sounds like tragic opera music or something. It really fits the scene.

I looooooooooove that piece to death. It was one of the bits I was most looking forward to finally having on CD, back when I got the 5-CD setgallagtor wrote:You're right, the Saiyan saga has lots of great BGM. This website which I recently discovered has a filler guide, which covers all of Z so it may be quite useful for anyone that doesn't know what was filler and what was not.Son Goku wrote:Makes me wish there was a guide to tell me what was filler and what wasn't. *sigh*
Actually, I once planned to edit each episode's filler out and dub in the manga's lines where they belong.
http://kanzentai.com/guide/battle/battle_dbz.html
That's a direct link to the page.
I also like that piece of BGM you are reffering to as well, it is a piece from the original Dragonball which got used in Z wasn't it?
I also just found out that the shop where I got my DB manga in England, doesn't sell it no more! They've stopped selling Dragonball mercvhandise of all kinds, I remember they had the Tankoubon and the Art books and several Make-your own models of DBZ characters like Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and old Gohan(I bought a few of them, they are cool), they said now they don't have the rights to sell anymore DB stuff and you have to resort to using the net.

If we're talking about the piece I think we are, you'll find it on Disc 5, track 3, (the compilation of score from DB movie 2 "Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle"). Of course, the track has a bunch of other pieces on it, so you'll have to wait a minute or two before that particualr piece pops up.Sun_Wukong wrote:Do you by chance know what track that is?VegettoEX wrote:I looooooooooove that piece to death. And on a side note, I believe they made two versions to this BGM, one without the vocal singing. This other version plays when Freeza impales Kuririn (at the very beginning of the ep, just after he had first been run through at the end of the last ep). I suppose that's because the singers seem to actually be singing about something. Correct me if I'm wrong, but every time I hear it I think I catch snatches of "Nemuri hime" and "Mezame yo!"...

Well, thank you, but that section was actually done by Hujio before I joined onto the project.Dayspring wrote:Wow. Exceptional work there, DBW.
For more details on filler, you can look forward to our episode guide which will hopefully be launched with the rest of the DragonBall Information Database later this month (but don't hold me to that). Here's a sample of the first 3 episode pages (just click on the "Next Episode" link to navigate, since these pages can't be accessed yet from the main menu). The filler info is in the "Episode Notes" section.
http://www.kanzentai.com/guide/episode/db/001.html
The Episode Notes for episode 1 are a little shabby right now, but I'll probably beef they up before the launch of the database. You can also access a rough/incomplete version of the Chapter 1 page by clicking the chapter title on the "Corresponding" info line.
Some other sections we'll be launching with the database include a Production Guide, Cast Guide (with cast bios), Character Guide, Items Guide, Manga Guide, Misc. DragonBall (obscure DB stuff), and much more! Be sure to look forward to it!
*end shameless plug*
Well either way, DBW, Kanzentai has REALLY progressed since I last saw it. Finally, another good Dragonball site! Yours would, if it were around in the times of DB noobie-year, be labelled as one of the "Elite" Dragonball sites. (Complement; not calling you guys childish or anything
)

Yep, it's noted in episodes 2 and 3, and will be noted anytime in the future where it applies. However, Bulma's hair actually is blue in chapter 1, which we noted on the chapter 1 page...Son Goku wrote:I've got one more note you can add: In the manga, Bulma's hair was purpleish pink (what's the specific color?) and not blue like the anime
Edit: Oh, wait. You put that in episode 3's guide. Nevermind
"Bulma actually has blue hair in the fully-colored portion of this chapter, being the only time it's ever on par with the anime."
http://www.kanzentai.com/guide/manga/chp/001.html
I might add this info to the episode 1 page before it's launched.

I personally liked this conversation:
Yajarobe: "Some people can be so gross."
Korin: "You said it."
and yet Yajarobe was picking his nose the entire scene
I do think Chi-Chi's reaction was appropriate: "What did those bad men do to you?!??" Hell, I'd be wondering the same thing if I had a son fighting Sayians. He was naked for crying out loud
.
I agree, Bluma's voice actor wasn't believeable. The japanese one had gotten attached to Yamcha, so it might've been more believeable (never saw it, so I don't know.).

Tiffiny Volmer's crying as Bulma is almost as bad as her role as chibi Maron. I blame not Tiffiny Volmer, but the ADR director because it's his or her job to make sure the final take is perfect for the appropriate scene. Volmer's crying as Bulma when Vegeta sacrificed himself in the Buu arc was much more believable, whilst in the case of it's recreated still-scene in Budokai 3 and last night's episode, it just sounded too forced and not right. Perhaps FUNi's ADR director is too deaf from Schemmel's screaming to notice Volmer's bad crying
