I rather like it. I've played Streets of Rage, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Double Dragon, Fatal Fury, and the like, millions of times, and I must say I enjoy this game. The first playthrough is quick and easy, though. It's about as fun as the NES Double Dragon and Battletoads games, without being as tough. Advance Adventure is a lot better, though.

It seems I have to make a correction on what I said before about the game being much more limited than Advance Adventure. In the secrets section you can actually purchase other game modes for single and multiplayer. I'm not sure what each of these modes are because I only unlocked the first one, which is endurance. It's very similar to the small fry fight mini game in Advance Adventure.
As far as the large yellow character is concerned, those fans stopped Conan the SSJ just in time.
Wha? I'm afraid I have no idea what you’re talking about. It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time?

It's sorta a cult thing

Ugh. I've played through the game several times and unlocked the characters. It's a decent game for what it is (a side-scrolling beat-'em-up in the vein of Final Fight), but it lacks a lot of the bravado of LOG2 and Buu's Fury. The lack of ability to transform to Super Saiyan is annoying, the fact that each character has only one super beam move is also annoying. The controls are clunky at best, movement feels like you're walking through molasses. The main problem is for non-fans...if they wanted to play Final Fight, it's already been ported to the GBA. I simply don't know WHY Webfoot would go in this direction after their last two games got such praise from DBZ fans.
My supreme annoyance, however, is that several characters have the WRONG super beam move. Vegeta has this weird move where he takes to balls of blue energy and then produces a giant yellow beam from them. I can't recall Vegeta ever doing this attack, and I own the GT DVDs. I expected his Final Shine, even if it doesn't premier until the Super 17 arc. Meanwhile, Pan, who actually USES a move somewhat like that in episode 16, gets the Kamehameha. Trunks has some weird beam move based on his Burning Attack...eh, whatever, at least they gave him his sword. Here's the weirdest part: Super Sayain 4 Goku uses the Genki Dama, while Super Saiyan Goku uses the 10 x Kamehameha, which is just plain wrong.
Anyway, the graphics are decent, but the gameplay is simply sub-par, repetetive shlock that will bore you to tears as you attempt to finish the game, much less unlock all the characters. Webfoot, if you want to make a LOG 4 game that resembles the previous ones, I'll gladly pay for it. In the meantime, don't count on anyone buying another round of this crappy stuff.

The reason GT Transformation may seem inferior to it's predacesor LoG series games is basicly because it's straight up a "Fighting Game", and people have to keep in mind that this is only the second DBZ fighting game webfoot has done, Taiketsu being the first. Just be glad that it's a decent game, though there are some obvious mistakes here and there, the story mode stays very accurate (though I don't know why they had to use modified Menza music in the game, what the hell is Webfoot on?SDHero wrote:Ugh. I'm glad it's better than Taiketsu, I'm just confused by the change in genres. It doesn't work nearly as well as the previous LOG games, and that's a serious criticism when the exact same team developed this game. I wouldn't complain so much if someone other than Webfoot had designed the game, it would be a much more hollow criticism. Webfoot seemingly decided to go in a different direction for this game, and it was a BAD choice, and I feel absolutely justified in faulting them for lousy, lousy judgement.Conan the SSJ wrote: The reason GT Transformation may seem inferior to it's predacesor LoG series games is basicly because it's straight up a "Fighting Game", and people have to keep in mind that this is only the second DBZ fighting game webfoot has done, Taiketsu being the first. Anyone who's curious about the cut-scenes, here's a clip of the start of the game I played out myself, and as can be seen, some modified melodies of Mark Menza's awful dub music was used. Also there appears to be less dub-adapted dialouge than in the previous LoG series games, thats one advantage it has over the previous LoG games.

Some of the taglines on websites say this game has "10 heroes and 2 villains" that can be selected. As far as I know, the playable characters are merely the following:
-Son Gokuu
-Pan
-Trunks
-Uub
-Super Saiyan Son Gokuu
-Piccolo
-Super Saiyan Vegeta
-Super Saiyan 4 Son Gokuu
-Super Baby Vegeta
Plus, the two "characters" only playable through key points of story mode, Son Gokuu with a tail, and Golden Oozaru Son Gokuu.
So where's the 10 heroes and 2 villains they reference?

That still doesn't explain where the other playable villain is...
Also, the same sites say that one of the selectable characters is "Super Saiyan Trunks", and that there is a seperate multiplayer mode centered around Piccolo.

That's half right and half wrong, there is NO Super Saiyan Trunks, I've unlocked all the characters and he ain't there. There IS a multiplayer mode where everyone (if no one else has a gamepak) plays as Piccolo, through use of Piccolo's multiform technique. The S wrote:That still doesn't explain where the other playable villain is...

I just got this game Tuesday and played in my Gameboy SP and i wasn't too happy with it. Then I put it into my Gamecube Gameboy Player and it was 100 times better! Play this game on Gamecube with a HORI Gameboy Player Contoller (http://www.hori.jp/us/products/gbp_con/index.html) and I guarantee that you'll appreciate this game more.

Well, I beat the story mode, and I must say the ending was pretty good as it stayed very true to the ending of the Bebi saga (Bebi's death and Piccolo's sacrifice), and it even left off on a cliff-hanger showing Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu shaking hands in "H.F.I.L", I guess this means a 5th and final game for the LoG series. And I got to play as Golden Oozaru, first game ever in which I could! Enjoy people out there who also got this game, though Mark Menza's dub melodies may be dissapointing (as they were to me), I'm sure you'll enjoy the ending, though beating Oozaru Bebi-Vegeta was far too easy.

I'm just disappointed in the length of the Golden Oozaru level. It lasted a fraction of a second.

Finally got the game. Yeah... I was disappointed because of the drastic change from the LOG games. Though I was expecting it to be drastic, I figured the characters would run around the world in this form and not walk a straight line and stop whenever bad guys came near them. I could have bought Megaman Battle Network 3 and 4 instead.
