So, uh... Is this the "ask people who already have it about stuff" thread? In any case, to people better informed than me - What is the average character move list? In Budokai 3, there were usually 2 Death Moves, one Ultimate and Dragon Rush for each character. Here, I saw the "... Kamehameha!" Death-Move-like attacks (which could've been done SO much better, in my opinion) and glimpses of some kind of physical combo rush, but that's it. So, how is it?

Everyone's got 5 moves. Two blast 1 (non-offensive), Two blast 2 (Kamehameha, etc), and one Ultimate Blast.

Well, I've downloaded some movies and I have... mixed impressions. Some characters have some really cool physical combos (Goku, #18), but most of them have Ultimates that are just quick, straightforward ki blasts, only bigger and with a taunt beforehand. Well, at least the beam struggles seem to look better than in any DBZ game before, including Budokai.

Now I have another question, what about Story Mode? From what I've seen it's cut-scene based, but the cut-scenes on previews weren't of Budokai 1 quality, but of "Raditz-has-to-take-a-piss" quality. Did they fixed it? And what about the promised what-ifs?

Well, I've played quite a bit during the weekend so I can talk a little bit about the game.

The cut-scenes are basically two characters standing face to face and talking. Sometimes they move a little bit but you can't compare them to the cut-scenes from Budokai 1.

The story mode is indeed very long, there are a lot of fights in each sagas, except in the movie parts where you only have one fight against the main "villain" (Cooler in his final form, Bojak in his final form...).

As far as the "what ifs" are concerned, I haven't unlocked them yet. But I did get to fight Guldo with Chaozu on Namek during the Frieza saga. I wish I could understand what was being said but what I can tell you is that the little scene after the fight is funny.

Speaking of Chaozu, when you make him do his "sparking attack" where he blows himself up, you hear Tenshinhan yell "CHAOZU!", I thought it was pretty cool. Be carefull though because once you do that attack, you have almost no life left so you better make sure that it will finish your opponent off.

So far, the only disappointing "sparking" attack was Tenshinhan's (it's like they do it on purpose to piss me off). He just says "Shin Kikoho" and throws a ki blast that doesn't look very impressive.

I can see why they didn't include in-game transformations but I also think that they could have included them seeing how Goku can use the Kaioken during a fight (and that gives him new attacks).

The 'sparking attack' is the character's Ultimate.

Exactly my main problem with the presentation. The 'Ultimates' look like Death Moves. Even Tien's Volley Ball Fist from the Budokai's looked more like an Ultimate than any of the ones I've seen in BT.

Just that? But they talked about unlocking anime cutscenes. It seems like I won't see Bulma this time

Still I really have to buy this game, just to play with Tao Pai Pai, Chaozu, Janemba, Bojack, Kamesennin, Bebi-Vegeta and Zarbon. :D

Chaozu is surprisingly a good character, I like his attacks.

On another note, I just had another "what if" fight: Bardock vs Goku on Namek. That happened after I killed Frieza with Bardock. They talk a lot, I wish I could understand what they're talking about.

EDIT: I unlocked a "what if" saga where you control Frieza. The last character you have to face in it is Cooler.

What about Master Roshi, Kid Goku and Tao Pai Pai, are they going to have what if fights, or the ones from Dragon Ball

I've unlocked a few new "what if" sagas and I can tell you that they're pretty cool. I won't tell you what happens but I'm sure you'll like it. No sign of a Dragon Ball story yet though.

The game will come out next week in France. But most of the hardcore French fans play with the Japanese version. We're helping each other out because finding what to do with those potaras isn't easy.

Actually, last I heard, the EU release was delayed back to the 21st again. Not sure why, but the NA release hasn't changed so I don't care. But ya, I've heard a lot of people who imported (or 'torrented') Sparking! were having 'fun' trying to figure out everything without being able to understand it. XD Hence one reason I shall wait for the NA version. Even if I do decide to use the JP audio I'll still have English text and subtiltes! 8)

Would the EU/PAL version of Tenkaichi have the same background music and japanese voices as the JAP version?
kvon is an alternative name to Kevin

The Japanese voices are in every major version of Budokai Tenkaichi, Japanese, European, and even the North American versions included. And by the way, don't refer to Japanese as "JAP", if anything refer to Japanese as JP. as to not appear disrespectful.

How is it disrespectful to have your own abbreviation?

Anyway, question: Is Broly STILL ridiculously strong? To the point where he only hits you 5 times and you're on your last life bar?

'Jap' is considered derogatory by a lot of people due to it's former life as the primary refrence term for Japanese people during World War II. I don't personally see it but whatever.

Anyway, to answer the original question about the music. No. The JP version will be the only one with the original music. The EU and NA releases are getting different music.

Broly is strong but not nearly as strong as SSJ4 Gogeta.

As for the music, it was cool to hear the old Japanese songs again but it's very repetitive, there aren't a lot of different songs.

Does the gameplay get repetetive? I've watched the trailers and it looks like it would..
