Sparking/Budokai Tenkaichi: Pass or Buy?

Post by MajinVejitaXV » Mon Sep 26, 2005 11:14 pm

I'm just curious, we've seen lots of footage and it's a couple of weeks away, so what are your thoughts? Who's gonna purchase and who's gonna rent or avoid completely?

I'm gonna wait, personally. Might rent it or something, but I'll need to see something to encourage my wallet to open, and I haven't seen it just yet...

Edit: Three options for a poll is too many? Ooookay...

I'm definitely gonna buy.

Buying, for sure. Even if the gameplay fails to deliver what we've been promised, I know I'll still spend weeks playing with the multitude of characters (Zarboooon) and re-creating the entire series, blow-for-blow, with my friends.

I'll certainly buy as well, can't wait for it to come out.

I will buy it, also pre-ordered it at my local gameshop.
This has the most complete character list I could ever hope for, always thought it was stupid to include Recoome but not the others.
Now I will be able to play characters that have been overlooked for long.
And as long as it is enjoyable easy to pick up I'm sure it will be a succes.

I personally have to wait to see what others think of it before I decide. I never buy a game without knowing some idea of how good it's considered. I can't blow like $60 and not know what I'm buying.

The features and characters its boasting are certainly very cool, but it won't mean nearly as much if the gameplay itself doesn't hold up. Here's hoping though. :P

Uh, Chaiotzu, Oozaru, the complete Ginyu Force? Of course I pre-ordered it! There is one thing I've been wondering and maybe somebody could give me an answer. Is King Piccolo in the game in some form, either as a standalone or alternate costume for Piccolo?

There are no alternate costumes in BT, only color swaps. And no, there's only 1 Piccolo in the game. (That also means there's no specific pre-Nail, Fused with Nail, or Fused with Kami forms, just Piccolo.)

If you have a Gamecube, odds are you'll get an exact "copy-pasting" of the "Collector's Edition" Budokai 3. You have that and ... Sagas to hold you over for the next year.

Hmm, tough question... I have no idea. I am thinking that on the day of release, I'll walk into GameCrazy, play it, and see what I think of it, before buying.

I am not really "amped," "psyched," or any other strange, and unusual term that might describe a heightened sense of elation, about Sparking/Budokai Tenkaichi, and haven’t been for a very long time, so we will just have to see how things play out. If I enjoy it, I’ll buy, but if I am not entirely phased by the game I’ll definitely pass, and possibly buy it at a later date.

It will probably be released for GameCube in 2 years.

Nope. Each form has it's own outfit, and only one. There's a pallete swap if they fight each other, but that's it. But, it's highly understandable. Think about it. There's 90 character models in this game. Each of them can show battle damage. That's at least another 90 models, assuming there's only one level of damage. So, that's 180 models. Now, add costumes to this and that number balloons WAY up to 360. So, ya.

Definitely a buy. I can't wait to beat down the GT characters with Muten Roshi.

I am going to have to rescind my previous post of passing, as I just today pre-ordered it, as well as paid up the difference.

Damn I am such softie...

The lack of in-game transformations is somewhat of a deterrent, but the incredible roster is just too much to pass up. Definitely a buy for me.
