Says who? It seems to me that beings born the way Daimao was are considered demons in Dragon Ball. Is it
possible that Freeza also counted due to how evil he was? I guess so, but it's also perfectly possible that he's not. Pure Buu is probably closer, since he is literally a blob of pure evil.
Whoever knew that evil was pink?
Piccolo Jr was considered a demon until he started to not be wholly evil, that's why I thought it just refers to somebody who is pure evil.

I don't think we technically know for sure if Piccolo Junior ever counted as a demon clansman, though. The main defining feature of them is that those killed by them can't go to the afterlife, and the only people Junior ever killed did. But whatever the case, even if it is just a matter of being really evil, that's apparently enough to be qualified as a demon clansman in the Dragon Ball world. If that's what a demon is to them, then he's a real demon.

Daizenshuu 4 states that Piccolo Daimao gives birth to Demon Clansmen due to his evil heart, and also states that Piccolo's arm stretching & body enlargement are abilities that he inherited from the Demon Clan. These 2 statements could imply that Piccolo was originally a Demon Clansman, but maybe not necessarily. I choose to believe that he was one though.
