I realized that I posted a wrong image, so I corrected it. As it turns out, DBZ Movie 2 only had two posters, but still one we've never seen before.
Tsukento wrote:Real shame too. All these years of Dragon Ball fandom and the internet being at our grasp and there isn't a sign of any kind for seeing the posters aside from the Daizenshuu images.

Most everyone should recognize the image on the left. But until I saw the Daizenshuu, I never even knew the image on the right existed. Some of the images are really nice too, so I'm surprised we haven't seen them before. It really is a shame... :(

I'm not sure if they were used for every movie, but I know for a fact that they were on a bunch of the later DBZ movies (which I saw on old fansubs). Basically, before the movie started there would be a little introduction to the movie narrated by Goku. He'd talk about what we were about to see, and stuff like that, then after the movie there would be a similar summary of the events (if I remember correctly). They haven't really been confirmed, but I'd say it's pretty likely that they'll be on there...

Features
- 8 disks, dual-layered, containing all 17 movies
- Movies presented in 16:9 letterbox format
- Full color booklet
- Theatrical previews and TV spots included
- Picture labelled disks
- New Print Component Master
- 2 "Scouter" transceivers

It's also possible that "theatrical previews" is referring to these intro/outro pieces. But maybe not, I can't say for sure.

I would assume when they say theatrical previews and TV spots, they mean the trailers shown in theaters and the TV ads for the movies.

Yeah. And at the end, various characters would discuss what happened during the course of the movie (Usually with the opening theme 'WE GOTTA POWER playing). I think the outros were referred to as "Disc End Specials"...

Wow, two scouter 'tranceivers' thats fucking excellent. Now it also may just be me showing my fandom colors, but there's always been a time when I thought "wouldn't that just be awesome to have a scouter?" and now, the wish is reality, and that is most excellent.
Geeking out. It's a good thing.

Wow... That box art is abysmal... So bad I've already gone ahead and cancelled my pre-order. The 16:9 thing was bad enough, but this was the last straw. Yes, when I'm spending this much money every little detail counts.

But holy crap those scouters look awesome. :D

I agree, me and my brother both enjoy drawing and this picture of Goku on the cover could have been better at least, there's something about his eyes that look weird, the way they are positioned makes Goku look a bit funny.

I think thats just shallow, dude. I mean, were you buying this for the box art or the films themselves? I am buying them for the movies, regardless of the aspect ratio, or cover art.

As well, I don't think it's too bad, now. Not the greatest I've ever seen, but also not the worst.

Yeah, really. Coulda been worse. They could've just slapped a movie screenshot on the cover. >_>

The Z boxes were easily the best design (not material wise but artwork/layout wise.)

Speaking of layouts, I'm curious as to what the Dragon Ball set looks like. Oddly enough, I've seen the layouts for Z and GT, but I've yet to see what the Dragon Ball set looks like. o_o

IMO, the GT one looks pretty nifty.

Eh, the DB box in person was the prettiest one. Z was nice, and so was GT (though the gloss wears away rather easily on the latter). I'll take pics of the DB box if ya want, though DBW probably has some ready to go ;p

As for this box...eh, I thought GT looked ugly from pictures, but the final product looked good. So...we'll see. Could go either way.

Nope, no digital camera (yeah, I live in 1995). I'm sure Hujio has some pics, though. We're also gonna be doing the Dragon Box sections on Kanzentai for January, so hopefully we can put an end to all these crazy "What's on Dragon Box?" message board discussions.

And yeah, not too many people seem to know much about the DB Box design. It's easily my favourite. The gloss finish on the box, the mat finish on the books, the characters on the books/disks and the episode listing underneath, etc. It's the best box so far, IMO.

It seems like you didn't intend to buy it to begin with...

It's fun here in 1995. You know, gotta give props for the walkman, those Alanis Morisette and No Doubt cassettes that are the big hit right now. :P

I'll agree with that. If you can oust a collectable like this for the sake of its cover art, which isn't that bad (especially when you compare it to some of FUNimations early work) it looks like you're either too shallow to base whether you want to own something off the cover art, rather than the quality of the film itself, or you had no intention of buying it anyway.

Acting like the cover is horrible and makes the product not worth owning because of that is dumb, very, very dumb. It also sounds like there is a hint of bitterness, possibly because you wouldn't be able to get it anyway, so you choose to bad mouth the product. :|

Indeed! And on that note, I've decided I won't have sex with Jessica Alba. Her breasts are too firm. Her ass too. Damn firm chested, firm assed woman...

*cough*
