If the moon posed a some kind of threat too goku he could have easily blew it up if he wanted too. it was shown thru out dragon ball and dragon ball z how even the villians who are capable of erasing planets with baseball sized blasts, usually restrict themselves on using that power, maybe its because planet busting attacks require different type of concentration that is meant to cause a chain reaction too a different mass level.

Blue wasn't anywhere near Roshi's level, he got his shit stomped by Goku, and at that point Goku was still at least a bit weaker than Roshi. Tao, I can buy. He didn't seem that strong? Would Tao have anything that could destroy the moon? His Dodonpa is basically based on a human shaped target, not wiping out huge areas of the surface. It would probably go through one side of the moon and out the other.
