Why does the SSJ4 design get so much hate by fans?

I'm not bothered by this; the alternative of naked ssj4 battles isn't feasible in the timeslot GT aired.
Unless they completely covered their bits with fur, but even so that might've still been walking too thin a tightrope for them.

I'm not saying I wanted to watch naked adult males covered in fur fighting, it's just weird when things like Vegeta's gloves growing or Goku's gi restoring when it happens. I'd just prefer if the clothes stay the same when they transform and stay ripped when reverting back.

The point is that Goku would likely have the same size body regardless of if he were an actual child, an adult stuck in a child's body, or an actual adult. It's not giving him his "adult body", it's creating an entirely new one that is presumably best suited for that person's combat potential or something. It's already magically changing clothes their clothes (including Vegeta's), so that's not really a stretch.

I've rarely seen people flat out HATE on SSJ4, more complain that it doesn't fit the theme of SSJ and they are right. It doesn't but the reason for that is SSJ4 wasn't supposed to be a SSJ form, it was just given the name SSJ4 out of time constraints and convenience. I think the form is genuinely great and I wish it would get revisited some how because it really is the zenith of saiyan potential to me. It also reintroduced the saiyan tails! So there is that!

Many people, including me, love it.
I remember loving it so much when I was a kid. And my friends too.
Actually, if we happen to talk of Dragon Ball, everyone says they liked GT, and when I ask them why they say "Super Saiyan 4".
The design is great, it really makes Goku and Vegeta feel like true saiyans.

You want a naked ape running around fighting? Naruto don't lose his clothes when he went 4 tails against Orchimaru

Vegeta's an even better example; when he transforms, he loses his shirt, his pants change color, hide gloves change completely and I can't remember what his boots look like. We he loses the transformation, his shirt come back, his pants color changes back and his gloves also change back. It makes no since when no other form, before or after, has magic clothing.

We're not saying that we want a naked Goku running around, but for some semblance of logic in the transformation.

Did Naruto outfit get damaged in the process when he transformed into Four Tail Kyuubi?

The pants isn't really a problem for me but when Goku transformers into Oozaru in GT his clothes are torn apart but when he transformers into ssj4 he haves pants on and when he turns back to a kid he got new set of outfit grow back
In DB en Z When Goku or Gohan Transformed into Oozaru and turned back to normal they were always naked.

I like the design. It's amazing.

What i dislike is the color. Red comes out of nowhere.
Oozaru = Brown
SSJ/Gold Oozaru = Gold
SSJ4 = Red???

Also the whole "Kid> Adult" is retarded. And the magic pants.

My perfect SSJ4 would just be called Primal Super Saiyan (or Super Saiyan Oozaru) and have brown fur with gold hair. And no magic pants, Goku should be Adult by default and burst his clothes Hulk style when transforming, while keeping his normal pants.

There are a couple things I don't like about it. The first is that it has already been established in the manga that the tail was unnecessary to Saiyans, or even a hindrance. (Kami says that once, and later Vegeta doesn't mind losing it).

The next thing is that it associates Dragon Ball with furry fandom. I know this show has animal people in it, but making Goku half-human half-ape in appearance is a step in the wrong direction in my opinion.

What i dislike is the color. Red comes out of nowhere.

I always assumed the mascara/eyeshadow was inspired by glam rock or visual kei or something like that. It does seem a little extraneous. The only angle in uni I can come up with is how often in the wild it's the male animals that are brightly coloured to attract females who have muted colors to protect their offspring by camouflage.

The fur that Goku has as a SSJ4 does look quite pink-ish.

There are even a lot of people that say the only thing good about GT was ssj4.

In fact, the only forms i see to get much hate are the the gods forms. Because new things are always bad, until they get used to it and fanboy over them.

I'm fine with the form itself. The fur and eye makeup and such makes for an, if nothing else, interesting take on Saiyan transformations.

That being said, magic pants are stupid.
