If he's destroyed, then the statue is destroyed, and for him to be resurrected, the statue must be made whole. He needs both the Namekian tied to him and the statue in order to exist, with the Namekian being the life force he and the Dragon Balls are tied to, and the statue being his physical form.

It's not that simple because dragon god for a mere creation from random namekian can override any authority of any god and has 1000 X stronger than any god of creation power and has the knowledge of the oldest creature ever existed for a newborn creature and even surpassed the knowledge of any divine being at any level. kami in the manga is depicted can create any life or reviving it though it's become ambiguous because Piccolo has no power resemble how kami can create and fix any life using a simple statue.
