Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Videl. I wonder what ever happened to her.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Vegeta became good. He blew himself just to kill Buu. He also help Goku and the others for years. He help defeat Captain Ginyu, Freeza, #19 and Cell.

Most regular humans who died in the Dragon Ball films. Off the top of my head:

Movie 3 - anyone who was crushed beneath the roots of the Tree of Might, or from the buildings it collapsed

Movie 4 - People who may have froze to death while Slug terra-formed the planet

Movie 7 - The major car pile up that No. 14 and No. 15 caused when they crossed the street into traffic

Movie 9 - All of the contestants who were killed by Bojack's gang. Possibly more when the stadium ceiling began to collapse

Movie 11 - Dozens upon dozens swallowed up by organic goo

Movie 12 - Anyone attacked by zombies and other monsters. All those people in traffic who had their cars run over by the National Socialist party.

Movie 13 - All the people who got absorbed by Hirudegarn.

Goku wish back everyone that got killed from Hirudegarn. Goku said at the end of the movie that they will get the Dragon Balls to wish back everyone.

Freddy Mercury... he never came back after that cameo in the Gt. Saiyaman Saga.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

I just realized tonight that you don't see Kaioshin and the Elder Kai anymore in Super. They appeared in the first few episodes and then just kind of disappeared. I wonder if Whis and Beerus are meant to be their replacements for the "overseeing gods" character roles in the story.
