Eh, to some extent I agree and disagree. The difference is that basically all of Future Trunks' motivations were specifically bound up in defeating the Androids. This is distinct from people like Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo (etc.), who have a more general, progressive goal: Not merely to become the strongest alive, but to just keep getting stronger period. That kind of motivation/goal was never shown in Future Trunks, so there's little to no previous plot points to draw from, aside from rehashing some kind of Artificial Human being created again.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Any way they want, as long as they put effort into it.
"His story is over" is a lazy excuse by people who lack imagination. If that was any kind of valid argument, Dragon Ball could have easily ended at the 23rd Budokai.
How Future Trunks can be in DB Super/New Majin Buu Saga?

Future Trunks and Bardock are both very liked characters because of their dark stories (Both TV specials were very, very dark compared to standard Dragon Ball)
Many fans like me, like dark stories a lot. I wouldn't want DB to always tell dark stories, though.
