I prefer both Movie versions in pretty much both arcs of Super. Sadly.
No point why given, because I said it many times, both Super retellings are just half-assed jobs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this has to be one of very few topics, where we all agree that one thing is better than other :)

The movie, definitely. But to be honest I see no reason why they had to do it again. What the hell did she do to get hit a second time?
Trunks: These androids are ruthless, they delight in causing pain and chaos.
Living on Earth in my time is like living in a nightmare. Always running and hiding and looking for a way out.

Trunks: I can't find hope in the present, but if I change the past can I find hope for the future?

Android 18: Ugh! I hate you!
Trunks: You hate the fact that you're powerless to stop me. That you're completely outmatched. Well imagine feeling what you do now all of the time like the people of this planet do. Fools! How do you think my master Gohan felt when you ganged up on him in the rain and he had no way out? Well, now it's your turn, I hope you enjoy it.

Trunks: Gohan, why'd you have to do it, why'd you have to leave me? It's not fair! Oh gosh no... what did they do to you Gohan? You were my best friend, you were everything to me... everything! This just isn't fair! Gohan, Gohan, GOHAN!

Remember this date, members. The day that a single thread within Kanzenshuu's halls... fell into agreement.

...in all seriousness, was there really any doubt? I know everyone's got opinions and that this forum is a place of discussion, but... good lord, watching Super's drawn out version was difficult to stomach. As Gyt Kaliba said, that scene had earned one of the most positive reactions in theatrical viewings. My theater in particular erupted with squeals and cheer... Beerus' first blow to Vegeta's face and him gritting through it in anger was met with silence followed by collected "oohhhhh shiet" whispers. It was a huge moment for fans, so they HAD to know about it, right?

Their solution was to inject sheer MADNESS into the scene. Slow-mo build up, Vegeta pleading with Beerus internally "stop/don't do it" (really, dude?), followed up by a painfully awkward no-pupil outcry. It's an absolute mess. That's your Bulma, man. You snap.

I know Dragon Ball has had more than it's fair share of scream-drama over the years (95% of which I've been totally down for), but for a subject such as family/spousal offense that's so rarely done in the show...I don't know, I've run out of steam with this. It deflates me just to think about it. Seriously... what even did I just watch?

Reaction: BOG
Super version was too dramatic for my taste. Toei probably thought they were working on One Piece that moment.
I like the transformation but anything before that, not so much.

Fight: Super
Both are good, but I find Super's version more entertaining.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.
