My Bulma! BOG vs Super

Post by Bansho64 » Sat Jun 18, 2016 11:09 am

Vegeta's rage boost at Bulma being knocked down in Battle Of Gods was very entertaining for many people. It was nice to see Vegeta show affection using his strength and it was touching in a weird sense. Dragon Ball Super's version of the scene was a bit different and more dramatic. Which version of the scene did you prefer? Why did you like it more than the other? What did you like or dislike about either one?

I prefer the movie version, as his anger hits him quickly, where as the Super version just drags the moment of him cracking just a little too long.

Movie version. It was well paced and had better animation.

Movie all the way. Its mean to be an emotional burst, not a build up.

In general I prefer the movie version, retelling both BoG and RoF in Super was kinda unneeded imo.

Movie version. Super's version was dragged out and made overly dramatic.

Movie version, though I'd like it to be just a little bit longer.

Dragon Ball Super's version was just useful because it confirmed Vegeta was using Super Saiyan 2, but other than that, it's skippable like the rest of Toei's retellings.

Movies better emotionally, the mangas makes the most sense as there is no "He's stronger than Goku!" or 10% line.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

The movie version for :

1- its production.

2- it was quick and surprising.

3- It didn't state how stronger he was than Goku so plot holes were easily avoidable.

Super's version had the electricity which confirmed he was Ssj2 (his aura changed in the movie so that should've been enough to prove it) and the creepy laugh Beerus did before hitting Bulma.

Movie version, Super was too over the top It was like Bulma died from that slap) and Vegeta looked like zombie when he powered up.

I liked that part cause it helped show how big of a boost he got.

Dunno... the movie version made me laugh because Beerus just put her in her place and Bulma was basically asking for it while the Super version made me feel for her more (Beerus backhanded her for shits n' giggles) but was overdramatic.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Movie version, Super was so dramatic and unnecessary, also so slow, the feeling was lost when Vegeta gave the first blow.

BoG easily.

Granted the thing with Beerus hovering above the water in Super was neat but everything else was better in the movie.

That quick beat in the movie engendered quite possibly the most embarrassing scene in the entire franchise in its TV adaptation. Battle of Gods, handily.

The movie version is superior in every department. The Super version of that scene felt unnecessarily longer and hammy, and not the good kind of hammy, in terms of drama and delivery.

This, so much so this. People give a lot of reasons for disliking various things in Super, things that are 'unforgivable' for them but aren't that big a deal for me...

...That moment isn't one of them. That moment is single-handedly one of my least favorite things I can think of for the franchise, which is disappointing because it's such a great scene in theory and was handled perfectly in the movie itself. The series version though...I guess they thought 'well, everyone already knows it's coming, so the shock factor is gone...let's try to get as much drama out of it as we can then.' It backfired, oh it backfired HARD.

So yeah, I'd have to agree with the general consensus that the movie's version of 'My Bulma!' is a lot better than Super's version.

Definitely the movie. He didn't dwell on it he just acted and that's what surprised Beerus in my opinion. :)
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Movie version easily in Super Vegeta almost cried as if Beers had raped Blooma. It was an over dramatic scene falling flat with no impact at all.

Movie. Super was agreeably too long, and he did little-to-no damage against Beerus, unlike the movie. Sorry, Lord Beerus.
