So were the songs originally intended for Dragonball GT or did they just buy the rights?
Answer was given above, but it's just random Jpop nowadays (nowadays being from +/- 1996 till now) being used as anime openings, few anime feature anison as opening now. Random Jpop are just used as openings to give them more publicity.
None from Portugal, unfortunately.
Oh, I saw some video's of Kageyama singing in Portugese (apparently, Kageyama knows Portugese?), several Saint Seiya songs, so I assumed it was in Portugal ^_~;

He was probably in Brazil (Brazilian Portugese). They need the JAM Project over here, but that's pretty big of a stretch & highly unlikely.

I, too, am baffled that people thought DAN DAN was sung by a woman. Field of View is even pictured on the single, which I'm pretty sure is on the site.

Rachel is indeed correct. Just scroll down to the entry for "DAN DAN":
http://www.daizex.com/multimedia/music/singles.shtml
And this is why that little saying, "There's a site too?" is so very useful.

Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."
