It looks like it's SSG color, probably because he's a Kaioshin and has God ki. It makes sense to me. He'll probably quickly transform to blue, though.

Yeah, not really not a fan of this... My only hope is that this form is Black's version of Bluper Saiyan and not another evolution of SSJG that Vegeta & Goku will one day obtain just because... Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan?

Doubt it if this turns out to be true for the anime then I suspect like SSGSSKK it's another way to give Goku a new form without directly giving him a new form. With SSG looking so similar I doubt Goku or Vegeta would obtain it seems like it may just be specific for Black only. Not a fan either but hopefully it grows on me like Golden Freeza did.

Doubtful. These art card thingys look to be random. Vegeta is in his "F" outfit Goku is using SSG. Plus Broly etc are on the other samples they showed.

Defying expectations? This is exactly what I expected from Toriyama. Not the colour, but the recolour aspect was completely expected. It's not special or thought provoking in any way, shape, or form. Fart out a colour of an established look, and there, new form. Easy. The most it got out of me was a sigh. I don't expect creativity now a days, so this is nothing new at all.

Also now it even closer mirrors the whole AF/Sprite/Fan Evil Goku thing we've had for years.

Yeah exactly, the worse part is its even MORE similar to an established fan fiction. It's like they read it and said this sounds good, let's just use a lot of this material so we don't have to worry about being as creative ... . Cell defied expectations. An enemy that pretty much ate other powerful enemies to become even stronger? Yeah that's pretty great and just the concept alone sounds menacing. Anyway, I'm more interested in what's up with Gogeta.

Personally, I didn't need an explanation because I figured the answer was a given before Dragon Ball Super, but it looks like we can't be satisfied whether official material elaborates or not.

Well it was definitely not in accord with Battle Of Gods where it was pretty much stated that Goku could never reach that level "on his own" and how he hated having to steal power from the others. In fact SSJ God far outtrumps even fusions like Vegetto. If Vegeta could solely achieve power surpassing all that, it's not logical at all. But Toei and Toriyama apparantly aren't in the bussiness of having to explain themselves and entertain people. They're here to make money regardless of wheter something makes sense or not.

That's easily settled. Goku is correct, he could never reach that status alone, hence Vegeta needing assistance from Whis to reach that ceiling of power. Both Goku and Vegeta work to learn the properties of god ki for themselves. I think that's pretty in-line with their current character developments. That would be adopting new teachings to strengthen themselves. Goku was already a practitioner of this, but Vegeta approaching martial arts this way is quite new, previously training alone with Future Trunks and then actually training with his younger son. This time, he sought out a teacher that was better than him. You'd be hard pressed to see him do something like that in older story arcs. I don't think this is a case of the story being nonsensical, but rather unwillingness to connect the dots. There are tidbits here and there that doesn't make this conclusion too wild, I think. Everything doesn't have to be a marketing ploy with disrespect towards the art.

I think I would have preferred not giving him a transformation. This kind of strikes me as fan-fic material. At the very least, did they really have to make his hair pink? It just looks bizarre with the dark colored outfit.

But maybe the colors of the stickers are a bit more dark than they will be in the anime. Waiting the definitive anime palette before a final opinion, but not hyped about this..

He was so charismatic in a "base form" with his black hair to highlight his outfit, simple but effective, too bad..

This is fucking terrible. Pink clashes horribly with his clothes. If they wanted a brighter color, why not purple? It blends better and is more of an anti-blue.

Personally, I would have loved white hair, as in the fanart, or black. Yes, black. He's Goku Black. Why not just have him obtain SSJ hair without a color change (besides maybe red or white eyes to distinguish it from false SSJ)?

I find it weird seeing people complain about pink hair and how it clashes with black, but they never seemed to have a problem or even praise Super Saiyan 4 Goku's design. Pink is a very good complementary color to black and fits Black's design (compliments the red band around his waist). The image we got was pretty low quality so it's early to pass judgement. Let's neither hate nor praise it yet, until we see more of it.
